months passed since our wedding, until the day finally came...
I was hanging with Retro, Gladion, and Hau down at the beach, swimming, talking about training. Retro told us about his journey, it was boring as hell to say the least. that's when I got the call
"Sun! come quick, my water just broke!" Lillie said over the phone
"alright, just stay calm, I'll be there soon," I replied
I hung up the phone
"what's happening?" Hau asked
"it's Lillie, she's going into labor, I'm gonna have to head off," I reply
"hold on, just because you've gotta go doesn't mean we've gotta stop hangin out, we'll come with ya!" Retro said "Besides, Gladion's gonna be an Uncle here in a few hours"
"fine, besides, you guys are my pals, just don't get involved"
"you say that to your brother in law" Gladion pitched in
we headed home, and took Lillie to the hospital. we alerted our parents, and other family to head to the hospital.
Lillie was in labor for 10 hours. she finally gave birth, those ten hours were painfully long. but after those hours, our child was rushed away from our arms.
about an hour later, he was given to us. Lillie sat up in her hospital bed to cradle him in her arms.
"Sun, do you remember the name we agreed on?" she asked very weakly
"yeah, I do, welcome to the world, Rei Hikaru Kagayaku" I replied as the little bundle of joy opened his eyes "he has your eyes"
we continued cradling him until the doctor came in
"Excuse me, half of Alola is outside, they want to see you, along with a few people who say they know you personally, should we let them all in?"
"No, the people that say they know me personally may come in."
as The Doc opened the door, Mom, Dad, Lusamine, Hau, Gladion, Moon, Buck, Jules, and Retro came in
"who knew, the next generation would be so cute?" Retro commented
"the little tyke, he's a good lookin baby" Buck said
"Mon Garcon, has had his own little garcon" Jules spoke
"thank you everyone for showing up here,-"
"who cares! does the little tyke have a name?" I was cutoff by Buck
"yeah, his name is Rei,"
immediately after, everybody was rushed away except for our parents and siblings.
"Sun!" Dad said sitting down next to me. "you must be proud,"
"you better believe it." I replied
"Eclipse, Sun, Rei, all three of our names, they reflect that of something the sun takes part in, an Eclipse, the blocking of the sun, casting a shadow, the Sun itself, and the beams of light the Sun produces"
"good eye"
Dad chuckled
"awww, let me hold my grandson, Sun!" my mom said quietly
Lillie sighed, as I lifted Rei from her arms, and gave him to Mom
"he's a Kagayaku alright!"
eventually, they all left, leaving me and Lil in the hospital, Lil would have to stay there for a few days, leaving me and Buck with the house to ourselves. I began to wonder what kind of hell would arise with it being just me and the old man.
I walked through the front door, and Buck had the Andy Griffith Show on.
"hey boy, before you head to bed, I just wanna say, congratulations" Buck said calmly with an expression on his face that signified comfort.
"well, thanks pal, that means a lot, and don't think just because we've got a kid, we're kicking you out, this is your home as much as it is ours. after all, Rei'll need his Uncle Buck" I replied
Buck chuckled as I walked down the hall, and changed into my pajamas, and got into bed.
it's my first night alone since we got together, but I'm fine with that, soon, Lil will be back, with little Rei in her arms. In my mind, I've succeeded.
