Decidueye vs Rayquaza, a battle of ages
one man, born from a long line of champions
the other, the first champion of a region
lets do this!
I mega evolved Rayquaza using the charm on my necklace, and called for dragon ascent, while Decidueye used spirit shackle
these moves clashed and an array of smoke covered the field.
once the smoke cleared, Rayquaza was still standing, while decidueye, had fainted, I had won, 5-1.
I walked over to Sun,
"I'm guessing you want my title, take it, Alola could use a trainer like you as it's champion" Sun muttered
"no, that title is important to you, I can't accept it"
I gave Sun a pat on the back
in a few days Sun's going back
Sun's POV
I lost, like last time, but hey, I didn't make it easy, it was really fun actually, I just can't wait to be home, I just have to wait till after Retro's league festival, it sounds fun enough at least.
there's supposed to be drinks and food among other things
Timeskip to the festival because I'm lazy and want to get this book over with
wow, this festival's actually pretty fun, there's a dance, some punch, and some food.
Lillie and I have been dancing for a little bit now, and we've been enjoying it, and I could swear that punch was spiked
Retro's POV, The next day
well, Sun just left, and I'm flying Ari out here.
Sun, don't doubt for a second, that you're gonna be better than me one day, I'm almost thirty, while you're not even 25, you've got a distance to go, that kid of yours, he'll be better than both of us. he just needs to be guided down the right path. if you ask me, I don't know how I've maintained 7 champion titles for 10 years. it's a struggle, I'll admit. the reason I was routing for you in the league, the reason I helped you, was because I saw you as worthy of my titles, worthy of taking my place. you lost, but that may be the last time, after all, I am undefeated. I have been my whole career.
one day, you and I will be sitting on a beach drinking pinap juice, while our kids battle each other.
in my opinion, you were my best student, well you were my only one, but I can say this, and it's something I've wanted to say for a while.
I think I've lived up to a Legacy.
Retro
I put the letter in the mailbox, and saw a delibird come by and pick it up
after the league ended, and Sun went back, we did a few things, once Ari and I had a kid, Hiro Otoko, and he got to the age of training, I retired. Sun and his family come down every now and again.
Alder passed away, peacefully in his sleep, he's with Mustard now.
once Hauringu left on his own journey, I took charge of the gym, and personally, I like it.
Rei and Hiro are the best of friends as well, I see a rivalry brewing.
as all things do, The Story Of The Great Retro Otoko passed on into myth and then into legend, while The Story Of Sun Kagayaku is still being written.
I didn't know settling down felt this good
and that is it! this book is over with! onto the next book, which will be an MHA fic, I figured this would be a good way to wrap up the series.
but yeah! see you guys in the next one!
