"Well your grace finally decided to make an appearance." Mick said to Stevie bowing his head sarcastically.
"I've been fashionably late since the 70's Mick, you shouldn't be surprised." Stevie said rolling her eyes. "What are we working on?"
Stevie took a seat on the couch between Lindsey and John. Christine and Mick were sitting in chairs across the small glass table.
"Set list for tonight." Lindsey said.
"Well what do you have so far?" Stevie asked.
"We were thinking about starting with Dreams, you know to get every one amped up." Mick said.
Stevie nodded.
"Chris mentioned going into You Make Loving Fun to lighten the mood." John said before taking a drink of beer. Jesus John, it's not even noon. Somethings never change.
"Yeah I agree." Stevie said enthusiastically.
"Okay well what about going into Never Going Back Again after that? I feel like it's something we can easily bridge with You Make Loving Fun." Lindsey said rubbing his chin.
"I think we should do Angel. We used to do those two songs back to back and I just feel like they flowed so well." Stevie explained.
Lindsey looked at her.
"The whole point is to do something different Steves. People don't want to see the exact same concert they saw 30 years ago. We don't have the sex appeal we had back then, we really have to wow them with our performance.
"We don't have sex appeal? Speak for yourself." Stevie huffs. "Christ who remembers the set list of a concert they saw 30 years ago?!" Stevie was beginning to raise her voice.
Mick, Christine, and John all looked at each other with rolling eyes. Here we go again.
"Stevie I'm just voicing my opinion I don't know why you find the need to get so defensive."
"Because it literally feels like you dismiss every idea I have. We are a band Lindsey. We have to be able to communicate and make decisions together. I know it may come as a surprise to you, but the other people in the band have their own minds and opinions. You have to micromanage everything! And when you don't get your way you pout like a child."
"What's that supposed to mean? You're digging up bullshit from the past, I thought we both agreed we weren't going to do that anymore."
Steve stood up from the couch with tears in her eyes clutching her purse.
"Fuck you Lindsey. I knew this was a bad idea, I can't believe you ever talked me into it."
Stevie made a dramatic exit and Lindsey sighed.
"Lindsey just figure out the set list before rehearsals. If things don't sound right tonight we'll change them before the next show." Mick stood up and walked out with John.
Lindsey and Christine sat in silence for a moment. Christine was the only person who could ever talk sense into Lindsey.
"Jesus Christ Lindsey. One day? You guys couldn't even last one day?"
"Chris. I- I don't understand what I do that pisses her off so much." Lindsey said throwing his hands in the air.
"Listen all I'm going to say is that you better figure it out. I am not letting you tear apart this band again. You need to go to her and work your shit out. I want you two on good terms before rehearsal."
Lindsey huffed and nodded.
"No go! You don't have much time."
