Lindsey opened his guitar case and took out a small velvet drawstring bag. He opened it and took out two necklaces. The necklaces were a matching set. They were both gold, one had a moon and one had a star. Lindsey put them in his first and squeezed them tight. He took the necklace with the moon and put the chain around his neck clasping it. He took the other necklace and sat it on his dressing room table. He scrambled around finding a pen, piece of paper and an old envelope. He began writing.
Stevie,
You're probably wondering where the hell this came from... and that's a valid question. That night after our final show of the Rumours tour you came to my dressing room and you told me that we would never work out. We had been secretly seeing each other for weeks and I had planned on breaking up with Carol Ann that night to be with you. You kissed me one last time and you took off the necklace I gave you. I've kept it with me all these years in my guitar case. I pull it out many nights when I think of you. Some day I knew I was going to give it back to you. I wish it were under better circumstances but I think now is the right time.
I will never give up on us.
LindsLindsey folded the letter up sticking it in the envelope with the necklace and sealing it shut. He walked to Stevie's dressing room and knocked before sliding the envelope under her door. He took a deep breath and then walked back to his dressing room to get ready for rehearsals.
