A Sizzlin' Summer

Part 9

Tess and Keith both looked at each other with a very confusing look asked Monica how she knew Tess' uncle. She responded "Danny and I go way back, we used to date way long before I even met your father but things got complicated when he had to go to the Army and never came back until like 4 years ago when your grandpa died 2 days before we sent Keith to Vancouver which I am terribly sorry and when your parents died the following weekend", Tess looked as confused as Keith while Monica was talking.
"But wait- I still don't get why dad lied to me by telling me that you moved out the country with somebody else and that he was sorry for treating me like a nobody when we used to live under his roof, like okay Mr. I have money but can't be there for my kid" -Keith
"Oh, and Tess, I'm really happy that you got to end up with Keith. I remember how he used to always talk about you, how beautiful you we're with your curls popping out and your hazel eyes just glowing in the sun, if it wasn't for Rob who forced me to send my own kid in some random place, you guys would have already been together... I hope you guys enjoyed being in Greece" -Monica
The moment she said that, both of them gave her the look asked her how she knew they went to Greece this summer, she smirked as she got up the table to go to her room. "Tess, I have something that I think you would love to have, follow me, " said Monica. She got up and followed Monica to her room and saw her holding a box, she wondered what it was but couldn't find out...
"What it is Monica?" -Tess
"Open it baby, you'll see"- Monica
She opened it just to reveal a ton of pictures of the whole family together and a bunch of other pictures of Keith and her, pictures with Ambrose and Tristan and a key, yes, a key. "A key," said Tess with a very confusing look on her face. What could she probably do with this key and most important question is why does she need it?
"Monica, I- I don't understand, why is there a key in the box?" -Tess
"There's also an address right here love, that's why there's a key in the box. Go in that address whenever you want to, maybe you'll find what you looking for" -Monica
"Thank you so much Monica, it really means a lot to me" -Tess
Knock knock knock*
"I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?" -Keith
"Hi baby, no you're not, your mom was just showing me something" -Tess

Keith and Tess finally got to go home but the whole time Tess was thinking about what or who she could possibly find in that address, maybe she was scared of something bad happening to her or Keith but again, Monica would never hurt them. They arrived home and Keith got in the shower and left Tess in the room overthinking, she decided to write down the address on google map to see if she knew the place but what she found was far more interesting. She came across an article that was talking about her parents' tragic death and that before they died, they were on their way to that address and finalize the paper works to give the house to their only daughter Tess Davis and that's when she put 2 and 2 together wondering how Monica manage to get the house key, she needed answers really quick but couldn't tell Keith anything because she didn't want to accuse anybody without proofs. And so as soon as Keith got out the shower, she made her way in the shower still overthinking about everything she just found out, from the whole lie Rob fed them to Monica still having her memories and now the whole house thing, she thought to herself maybe it was time for her to investigate on her own since nobody ever found out what really led to this tragedy. The next morning, she woke up and Keith was already out to God knows where, she didn't even bother calling him because she realized that maybe he might still be pissed about what happened yesterday with his dad and how he found out that his mom is still here in LA. She took a shower, went downstairs for breakfast, left a note for Keith in case he comes back and drove in direction of the house and the whole time she was driving, her heart was pounding because she was scared of what exactly she was going to find. She arrived at the neighborhood and was looking around telling herself that she already been there but doesn't remember when, she got in front of the gate and it automatically opened up for her like somebody was expecting her or something, as she was approaching in the alley she was looking around and realized that it was her childhood's house because of the old paintings she made on the outdoor walls, she smiled and told herself that it wasn't that bad of an idea to come here, her soul started getting more relaxed as she stepping her foot out the car to go open the front door of the house. Finally, she got inside the house and saw how everything stayed the same, even the smell stayed the same, she decided to go check every room in the house and found a letter on her parent's bed and sat down on the ground to read it... "Dear Tess, by the time you read this you might already be an adult and probably have kids, we are writing this letter to you today because we wanted to tell you how proud you make us feel and because in the future if something happens to us, just know you'd always have a place to come visit us... we love you babygirl", she had tears in her eyes because it looks like they had written this letter as a sign of goodbye.
