Seven nights had crawled by since Jungkook’s heartbreaking rejection, yet Taehyung could still taste the omega’s tears as if they were fresh on his tongue. Each sunrise brought no warmth, only a deepening hollowness. Every time Taehyung closed his eyes, he saw Jungkook collapsing in agony as their fledgling bond tore in two.

So, he stopped closing his eyes.

When dawn rose over the crystal spires of the Eastern Vampire Kingdom, Taehyung stepped from his black Rolls‑Royce with his fiancée on one arm and his shields—Namjoon and Hoseok—trailing behind. Court officials swarmed with relief: the Crown Prince had returned.

But something was wrong.

The prince who marched into the palace was not the charming diplomat who had left seven days earlier. His smile was gone. His eyes, once lively onyx, now glowed a constant, ominous red. Servants whispered the phrase “blood‑drunk” behind trembling hands.

...

Within minutes of arriving, Taehyung strode straight to the Royal Calendar Hall. Under the stained‑glass skylight he slashed a quill across the parchment, postponing the grand wedding to Sooyun Two‑Weeks‑Hence. The scribes gasped. Courtiers exchanged baffled glances.
Sooyun—fashionably late in trailing him—squeezed his arm, hissing, “What game are you playing?”
Taehyung ignored her, signed in crimson ink, and swept from the hall without a word.

...

That night the hunts began.

Taehyung left the palace alone, cloak flapping like the wings of a dark seraph. He prowled distant villages—criminal dens first, then anyone unlucky enough to cross his path. Reports flooded in: drained corpses in alleyways, bodies torn open along moonlit roads, broken necks discovered in shadowed taverns.

For a kingdom that prided itself on ethical blood procurement—blood banks, willing donors, fair trade—the sudden spike in murders was a political nightmare. Yet no guard was strong enough—or willing—to challenge the berserk Crown Prince.

> The sweet vampire everyone knew was gone; in his place prowled a heartbroken devil.

...

Queen Mishil sensed her son’s unraveling long before Namjoon delivered the official report. Mothers felt these things—the echo of their children’s suffering across any distance.

In the Grand Solar she paced beneath vaulted ceilings of crystal‑cut moonstone, fingers clenched around the silver dragon torque at her throat. When Namjoon and Hoseok finally requested audience, she was ready.

...

Namjoon knelt, head bowed low. “Your Majesty, seven nights ago the prince found his destined mate—a werewolf omega from the Snow Moon Pack. The mating was… incomplete. The omega rejected him.”
