...

Lavender fog still hugged the valley when Jungkook eased onto the pack’s main drive, one hand bracing his small bump beneath an oversize cream cable-knit.
A black Mercedes-Maybach idled by the gate, paint so glossy it mirrored the treeline. Twin SUVs flanked it—obvious security but prettier than any armored convoy had the right to be.

Ami barreled down the porch steps with a wheeled suitcase nearly her height. “Did you pack ginger chews?”
“Yes, Mother,” Jungkook teased.
“Brat. Eat every two hours or the nausea returns—doctor’s orders.”
Behind her, Yoongi carried a lacquered box. “Sap-salve, dream agates, and a phone with palace-secure encryption.” He clasped Jungkook’s shoulder, voice rough. “Call if a single crystal out there looks at you funny.”
Jungkook’s answering smile quivered but held. “I will.”

JeongEun and JeongGwon tumbled out with cartoon backpacks clinking full of snacks and action figures. Jimin fluttered after them, dramatically fanning his face. “My babies, deserting me for a glitter-castle—how will I survive?”
“You’ll survive on gossip,” Yoongi answered, deadpan.
Jimin sniffed. “And the royal spa menu.”

The Maybach’s rear door opened. Namjoon exited first—tailored midnight-blue suit, soft eyes. Hoseok followed in cream slacks, smile incandescent despite the early hour.
“Little princes,” Hoseok greeted, bowing until his ponytail brushed gravel. The twins giggled.

“Ready?” Namjoon asked Jungkook.
The omega exhaled, palm splayed protectively over his abdomen. “Ready.”

Two glossy SUVs led, Maybach in the middle, another SUV behind—a sleek serpent of black metal devouring highway kilometres. Namjoon drove, Hoseok co-piloted with a tablet displaying shifting security feeds. Queen Mishil had insisted they travel “discreetly but safely,” which apparently meant bullet-proof windows you could tint from opaque to transparent with a fingertip.

In the back, Ami debriefed the twins on palace etiquette: “No calling vampires ‘sparkle-tooths,’ if you please.”
JeongGwon raised a hand. “What if they sparkle?”
Hoseok half-turned. “We prefer ‘luminously dentally blessed.’”

Jungkook—buckled beside a cooler of Seokjin’s tonics—stared out the window. Forest blurred into open plains; crystal spires of the distant kingdom winked on the horizon like sharks’ fins catching sun. Anxious flutter tickled beneath his ribs. He’s there.
Lixue, dormant so long, roused: Mate near… pup safe.
The comfort of that rumble eased tight lungs.

At a rest stop just past noon, the convoy pulled behind a reserved area screened by hedge walls. Hoseok handed out bento boxes while Namjoon calibrated the car’s witch-tech invisishields.
JeongEun sniffed Jungkook’s salmon rice ball. “Hyung, is Baby hungry?”
“Baby wants crackers and jam,” Jungkook admitted, grimacing at fish smell.
Ami extracted packets instantly. “Cravings trump cuisine.”
