The horizon was no longer a line of darkness; it was a jagged maw of silver and shadow. As the Snow Moon pack crested the final ridge of the Frost-Spine mountains, the Crystal Citadel rose before them like a titan carved from a single diamond. The air around the fortress hummed with a sickly, violet static—the final layers of King Hansol’s defensive sorcery, a barrier fueled by the stolen life-force of the realm. It was a shimmering veil of corruption that distorted the moonlight, turning the pure white rays into a bruised, toxic purple.

At the front of the tide ran the Obsidian Alpha. Taehyung’s paws didn't just touch the snow; they seemed to ignite it. Every stride he took was a reclamation of the thirty years he had spent in a daze.

The heavy, sluggish feeling of the witch-bane was gone, replaced by a raw, tectonic power that surged through his new limbs.

Beside him, Ruhan ran with the steady, relentless power of a winter storm. The father and son were a blur of midnight and slate, their hearts beating in a synchronized rhythm that the world hadn't felt in three decades.

Behind them, the thunder of hooves announced the arrival of the Citadel camp. Namjoon sat tall in his saddle, his face a mask of iron, his eyes fixed on the battlements where he had once stood as a loyal commander. Beside him, Dara and Dain followed close behind, their hands shaking as they gripped their reins, but their eyes were clear. They had lived in the shadow of the King’s lies for too long;

today, they rode for the truth.

As the pack reached the killing fields—the vast, flat expanse of white before the Great North Gate—the Citadel responded. The King didn't send soldiers; he didn't want to risk the defection of men who might recognize their Prince. He sent The Hollowed.

These were the shells of men Hansol had sacrificed to the Serpent over the years, their souls consumed to turn their bodies into mindless, indestructible vessels of ash. They emerged from the portcullis like a grey tide, their movements jerky and unnatural, their eyes glowing with a faint, necrotic purple light.

"Hold the line!" Namjoon roared, drawing his broadsword. The steel sang as it caught the moonlight. "Aim for the joints! They have no blood to spill, only magic to break!"

The collision was a symphony of violence. Taehyung hit the front lines like a meteor.

He didn't just bite; he tore through the enchanted armor of The Hollowed as if it were parchment. Every time his obsidian fur brushed a guard, a pulse of Moon-light erupted from his skin, cauterizing the ash-magic within the vessels. Ruhan fought at his side, a whirlwind of claws and teeth, protecting his son’s flank with the ferocity of a man who had waited thirty years for this moment.

But as the battle grew bloodier, a new figure appeared from an unexpected place.

Inside the Citadel, Jin who never had left Jungkook side once, While Taehyung had been at the Snow Moon pack, Jin had remained behind to watch over Jungkook and the twins. He had been a silent observer of the King's growing madness, biding his time, gathering medicines, and preparing for the moment the North would strike.

As the violet barrier flared outside, Jin realized the wolves were being drained of their life force by the King’s "Witch-Eater" spell. He knew he couldn't stay hidden in the nursery anymore.

"Ami, stay with them," Jin commanded, his voice as sharp as a scalpel. He handed a bag of protective herbs to the girl. "If the shadows come, burn these. I have to go to the gates. Our brothers are dying out there."

Jin didn't take the stairs; he used the hidden servants' tunnels he had mapped out over his time over there. He emerged from a side postern gate right as the first wave of Snow Moon wolves were beginning to falter.

"Jin!" Namjoon shouted in disbelief as the healer sprinted onto the battlefield, his white robes quickly stained with grey ash.

"Don't just stand there, Namjoon!" Jin roared, sliding into the snow beside a fallen warrior. He didn't use a sword; he used High-Altar alchemy. He shattered a flask of concentrated solar-salve, creating a 50-foot radius of golden light that acted as a sanctuary. "Bring the wounded to the circle! The King’s barrier cannot feed where the sun-salt burns!"

Jin worked with a speed that bordered on the supernatural, his hands glowing with a soft green light as he closed wounds that should have been fatal.

While Jin held the line at the gates, the tension in the East Wing reached its breaking point.

In the high nursery, Jungkook was on his knees. He wasn't in labor—it was the Resonance. His golden eyes were wide, glowing with a light that pulsed in time with Taehyung's heartbeat.

"Breathe, Jungkook," Ami whispered, clutching his hand. She looked at the door, where Jungkook’s twin brothers stood.

They were only ten years old, but they stood in front of the cradle with their small daggers drawn, their eyes fixed on the splintering wood.

Queen Mishil stood before the boys, her hands wreathed in blue moon-fire. "Stay behind me," she commanded.

"Taehyung!" Namjoon roared over the din. He gestured toward the western cliff. "The drainage sluice! It’s the only way to drop the barrier!"

Taehyung signaled to Yoongi. While Jin and the main pack held the gate, Namjoon and Yoongi broke away to infiltrate the fortress through the frozen tunnels, guided by the secret map Jin had slipped to them through the "Convergence" link.

Inside, the nursery door exploded inward. King Hansol stepped into the room, looking like a nightmare of translucent skin and black, pulsing veins. He looked at the ten-year-old twins and sneered. "Puppies playing at being soldiers. Move."

"No!" the twins shouted in unison.

The Serpent of Ash lunged from Hansol's sleeve, aiming for the children.

But the strike never landed.

The entire outer wall of the nursery exploded. Through the dust and the moonlight, the Obsidian Alpha leaped into the room. Taehyung landed with a force that cracked the marble, standing as a mountain of midnight fur between the King and his family.

Seconds later, the side doors burst open. Yoongi and Namjoon charged in, their blades drawn.

"Your reign ended the moment you laid a hand on my son, Hansol!" Mishil cried out.

The King was trapped. The First Moon Child was home, and he had brought the whole pack with him
