The Dean's Office again. Hal murmured under breath. She has seen Professor Uskevren more often than Ryu Kazama on dates in the past months. They talked for a while about her day, and Professor Uskevren would let her go afterwards. She was reluctant but she couldn't say no to Professor Uskevren; she could easily track her with her mind.

She opted to keep quiet while they waited. After several paces in the room, Professor Uskevren asked, "How are you dealing with your powers lately, Hal?"

"It's okay. Nothing new." She answered curtly.

"I heard numerous stories from different beings of this academy. I'm happy that you've turned a new leaf, and parted from your wall routines. And you made new friends too. Mitsuki Miho called you her reformed project."

Hal yawned as she leaned back. Here we go again. Why wouldn't she stop and give up? She thought to herself. Her brow rose when Professor Uskevren spoke even before she uttered a word.

"I understand that Reeg Myrkvi and Lizard are good friends of yours and you wanted to see them. Currently, we set alternative learning methods as we guide and study their behaviors. But, tell me Hal. How are your powers?"

"Hmmph. Why should you care? You wouldn't let me see them, and I'm no danger to them. Besides, I ain't no Realm. I'm not one of you." Hal rolled her eyes.

"Can you adapt to murder, Hal? Can you adapt to the idea that you could be murdered by your friend?"

Hal fell silent. Death and Murder. Can she really picture that for herself at this time? It was a daunting thought, that she shunned it quickly. She frowned while she glared at Uskevren.

"You have to have faith, Hal. As your headmaster, I wouldn't want to put you or any of my students in grave danger. What can I do to earn that trust?"

Hal pursed her lips, and she said, "There are only a few people I trust these days."

Professor Uskevren said, "I hope someday I can be another person you'd trust, and I hope you put more faith in more people as well. You can't fight a battle alone, Hal. I called someone to explain something you should hear."

Professor Uskevren opened the door, and two crimson eyes flashed before her.

Hal's eyes grew as big as discs. How could she have survived a death like that? Her heart was ripped off and she stood before her, unscarred. Neon Requyem sat in the empty seat near her.

Professor Uskevren spoke, "To answer the questions in your head, Neon Requyem majors in the Healing Arts. I believe she performed a self preservation incantation to restore all her energy through the moon. It wasn't easy to revive her but someone saved her in the nick of time."

"Who?"

Neon said, "You. When you got into my memories, you pulled my spirit with you. They healed my body while I was recovering within you. I got released when you broke out in the Balete Tree. I apologize that somehow you received some of my memories through nightmares."

This was a wicked awakening that she hung onto the arm chair; her legs were quivering. How could she survive and not her dad? Why and how could this happen? She yelled, "My dad was killed because of your stupid wand! You can take it!" She pulled it out of her bag and threw it at Neon.

The wand glowed and spun in midair back and forth, pointing its tip at Hal, then flipping towards Neon. Hal couldn't explain what witchcraft that wand had but it was acting up like a maniac pendulum. Neon took the wand and kept it in her bag.

Her crimson eyes lingered at her, "I'm a Luine too. The wand recognizes us, and it's a bit confused especially for those who had their outbursts. I had mine early on."
