A year pasted. Everyone is now attending their 3rd year together. However the adventure isn't over. Wily returns and it seems the time for Mega Man is now.
Mega Man makes his way through a chemical plant in search of Acid Man.
Mega Man: Any information?
Twilight: [Manufactured by Mecha-Chuchets Institute of Robology, Acid Man is a cutting-edge scientist robot whose field is advanced chemistry. Ever the perfectionist, he ensures that all chemicals are measured out exactly; Sloppy mixing makes him absolutely furious. He never hesitates to leap into the chemical tanks to check the mixtures, in turn, making him an excellent swimmer. His reputation has led the plant employees to call him the "Acid Merman" behind his back. Watch out for his Special Weapon, Acid Barrier, which generates a shield made of acid that not only protects him from all damage, but also lets him shoot globs of acid at enemies.]

In a chamber with a pool of acid underneath the floor, Acid Man emerges.
Acid Man: Welcome to my chemical paradise. Come on in, the acid's fine.
Mega Man: No thanks. Whether not be melted alive.
Acid Man: Well then... Time for an experiment!
Mega Man readies his Mega Buster.
Acid Man: Acid Barrier!
The barrier absorbs normal solar bullets and charged shots and must be worn down with repeated shots. While shielded, he fires three shots in the air that arc towards the ground. Mega Man activates his new weapon. With Block Dropper, the barrier immediately break and stun Acid Man momentarily.
Acid Man: IMPOSSIBLE!
Without the Acid Barrier, Acid Man will leap across at Mega Man and pause to fire three acid shots from his arm that lightly track Mega Man's position. Wait for him to pause and fire and time jumps to avoid the shots.
Mega Man used Block Dropper and the Speed Gear during his fight.
Acid Man: Gooh! (activates Gear System) SPEED GEAR! Quick as a splash with sizzling speed!
Acid Man will plunge into the acid pool underneath and quickly move left and right. His position is marked by a large wave of acid that must be avoided as he moves. Once passing underneath Mega Man, Acid Man jumped from the acid and fire a volley of acid shots downward.
Mega Man: (activates Speed Gear) Gotta think fast!
Mega Man dodges as Acid Man fires a charged Acid Barrier which requires more Buster shots to remove.
Acid Man: Gooh!
Mega Man drops a ton of blocks on Acid Man.
Acid Man: Experiment failed.
Acid Man was defeated and Mega Man required Acid Barrier.
