"Eomma, you never told me that you knew the 'Great Cheon Seojin' before."

"I didn't even know that you know her too, and you're even a fan of her..."

"I watched Korean TV shows and read Korean newspapers everyday when we were at US, that's why."

It was afternoon, and Rona had just got back from school. Yoonhee was on her room, signing files and working seriously until her daughter suddenly barged in that made her startled. Rona had a blank look on her face as she spoke to her mother, wanting to hear clear explanations.

"I've lost contacts with my classmates from high school before, and I have no idea about all of them— that's why I didn't knew anything about that Wicked Seojin anymore."

"W-Wicked? Eomma, what are you saying?"

"Its a long story, Rona-yah..."

"I'm willing to listen... Please tell me... Hmmm, now that I think about it, you never told me anything about your school life and why you stopped singing."

Yoonhee sighed and stopped her work, standing up from her seat and heading towards her bed. She patted the space beside her for Rona to sit, and so she walked towards where her mother was and sat beside her.

"Singing... That was my dream, my biggest dream. Just like you, I've always wanted to sing on big theaters and perform with famous orchestras. You may have got that from me..."

"Wow... But, why did you stopped singing eomma? And, why have I never heard you sing since before?"

"Seojin and I were rivals back then, both in singing competitions and academics. You know about Cheong A Arts Festival, right?"

"Yeah, the biggest competition for students who wants to sing."

"I... I joined that..."

"W-Wah, really? Eomma, did you win?"

Yoonhee smiled sadly, looking down at her fingers. Rona had a feeling that something about the competition had to do with her mother's solemn expression, so she patiently waited for a response.

"I don't know... After the competition, I just woke up in a hospital bed with a slit on my throat. Starting from that day, I can no longer sing. I dropped out of Cheong A University, and studied at another school."

"W-What... Eomma..."

"I can't tell you what exactly happened, but I'm sure you already know that this has to do something with Cheon Seojin."

"She did that to you? She gave you that scar? She's the reason why you stopped singing?!"

"Hmmm... However, I think its a blessing in disguise. If that didn't happened to me, I never would have met your father at US, and I wouldn't have such a loving daughter..."

Yoonhee answered, subtly dropping the topic to avoid more questions. She can't say everything to her daughter, at least, not now. Rona dreamed to be a successful singer, telling her about her bad memories about her journey towards being a singer might affect her daughter.

"Just... Try not to piss of Seojin, okay? God knows what she might do to you..."
