Cassidy's POV
Grabbing a sweat pants and hoodie I head out to the garden where I saw Colt just like every other night.
When I spot the back of Colts head I tread lightly. Not lightly enough as he stops playing and places his guitar next to him. Without looking in my direction he pats the empty space next to him.
I walk towards him and take a seat on the empty space, making sure to keep a space between us. I can’t let these feelings for Colt go haywire.
There is a silence between us but its relaxing.
“It’s a beautiful night,” I am the one to break the silence. Besides beautiful was an understatement. The night sky was a beautiful shade of black and blue swirling around each other. And the stars.
They were mesmerising. Each and everyone of them.
“Yes it is.” Colt’s voice makes me break my gaze from the sky. I turned my attention towards Colt surprised that he was staring at me with those eyes that constantly pull me into a deep trance where I lose myself. I am strong girl I know this and I can be stubborn and hard headed at times but when my eyes are locked with Colts it seems that my heart is an open book. I feel vulnerable.
I don’t like it. The feeling makes me scared.
I think back to when Colt warned me and “requested” me to stay away from me.
‘Should I take his advice?’
Today he was different. He was nice to me. We went riding on Midnight and tonight I feel comfortable right here with him.
Colt called himself a monster. Did he say that to make me scared? Was he telling the truth. Colt hasn’t done anything wrong come to think of it. Well besides his rude insults but I defended myself pretty well.
“I got you something,” Colt says reaching into his jacket pocket. I watched curiously as he pulled out a necklace.
The necklace is just breathtaking. My fingers graze over the black diamond pendent.
“Do you like it?”
My breath hitch in my throat I was speechless. Why is Colt giving me a necklace?
“Oh no!”
I break my gaze away from the necklace and look up at Colt who look sad.
“What’s wrong?”
“You don’t like it? Its okay I’ll just-"
“No! What are you crazy ! I love it,” I whisper yell at him.
“I love…” I look at Colt expecting him to continue his sentence. He opens and closes his mouth. “I love the necklace as well. It belonged to my grandmother,” he says.
“Thank you Colt. I’ll cherish it forever,” I glance back at the necklace. It once belonged to his grandmother. This necklace probably means a lot to Colt.
“Can you help me put it on.” Colt nods and I turn around. I brush my hair out of the way. Once he is done I take a chance to admire the necklace around my neck. Colt does the same.
“Cassidy?”
I Look at Colt. He stares at me with something I could only hope is adoration. “Promise me you will never take it off,” he says as he scoots in closer to me. I nod.
He places both his hands on either side of my face. Our foreheads meet and I nearly jump at the close proximity of his lips. “I need you to promise me.”
“I promise,” I breathe. This makes him relax a bit and he pulls away from him. I nearly let out a whimper.
I gasp when Colt pulls me towards him. At first I am shocked but later I leaned my body closer to his. Not wanting the space to separate us any more.
So what if Colt was a monster. He was my little monster.
