Cassidy POV
“You have to focus Cassidy!” Isabella yelled. It has been a week of training. A week of brutal torture. Isabella wasn’t exactly making it easy for me.
She is a great mentor to me. She acts like an older sister. Not just to me but to everyone. She is the one that tries to talk Christian out of punishing Axel for his pranks.
That boy is always up to no good.
“I’m trying.” I grit on my teeth as I try to focus energy into my hands. “Try harder. This attack will be your best line of offense.”
So that’s what I do. I pinpoint all my energy into my hands.
“Aah!”
A pink flash blinds me as the blast of energy leaves my hands. Slowly I open my eyes and gasp at the sight. At least fifty trees or so have been destroyed.
Isabella gapes at the sight before her eyes. Afraid of my ability I tuck my hands under my armpits trying to hide them. “I’ll let Christian know that we are going to have to replace the trees we lost here.” Isabella doesn’t take her eyes off the damage I caused.
“Cassidy don’t worry we can fix this. These trees will be replaced in no time. Isabella comforts, assurance on her face.
Isabella leaves me alone as she takes off into the direction of the mansion. I am then left alone with the corpses that once belonged to the now deceased trees.
Wow.
When you put it like that I’m kind of painting myself as a murderer.
Well I’m not going to allow this ‘little' setback knock me off my path. I have a goal in mind and I’m not going to let my own power be my downfall.
I can fix this. Surely there must be a spell for this, right?
“ Trees grow back.” I flick my hands over the field of deceased trees. I don’t have a clue of what I’m doing.
“Uh... rise from the dead?”
Nothing.
Oh yes. That’s right, Isabella had told me once that the spells we chant are in Latin. So maybe if I say it in Latin it will work. The trick is that I don’t know much about Latin.
Wouldn’t hurt to try.
“Vinea!”
I Open my eyes slowly hoping that it worked but... still nothing.
Just then I feel something wrap around my ankle and I’m being tossed in the air.
“Ouch!”
I feel my back hit against something hard. That’s when I realised my whole world was turned upside down.
Literally!
I hung upside down from the tree, trapped in vines.
Just when I have had enough of this witchy craft I hear a burst of laughter.
“ Well, well, well. Excuse the pun but how’s it hanging around.” Axel burst into laughter once again. I roll my eyes at his failed attempt of a joke.
The only reason he stopped was to take in the damage I caused. Axel murmurs something but I cant think straight as I’m still hanging upside down.
“Arbusto regeneratione!” Axel rose his hands, palms facing the site destroyed by me. Soon after new grew from the ground. Rising and growing tall to replace the dead ones.
