'Its been a quiet fee months in Riverdale. Spring slid into summer, and some semblance of normal life resumed. The terrors of the Farm weren't forgotten, but they had started to fade. Gryphons and Gargoyles was already becoming the stuff of an urban legend. Indeed, the big topic of conversation around town was July 4th. After one debate, it was decided that there would be an independence day parade down Main street, Riverdale's first in three years. But, there would be no fireworks display over Sweetwater River. The Blossoms used to sponsor them, but without their support the town couldn't afford them. Like I said, things have actually been pretty quiet lately. Enough that i'd actually gotten some real writing done.'

"That's an amazing story, jug." You state putting the papers down. "Really? Do you think it's worth submitting to a contest?" He asks. "No. I think it's gonna win the contest." You state. "I love you." Jug says with a smile. "Everyone loves me." You say sitting up and kissing him. "I can't believe I'm a married man." Jughead says as you lean back on his arm. "I can't believe it either. I used to think I would die alone. We have to go build that float for Veronica's parade. Now that I have my cast off and my stitches have healed I can finally start doing things." You say putting on pants. You drive to Pop's and put on some music. Everyone wears light clothes and you came in a sports bra and shorts. Jughead comes in a tank top and jeans. You hold a pencil in your mouth as you and Archie each hammer down a screw. Cheryl pulls up in her car and steps out. "Well, well, well. Stop the presses. The Riverdale Rag has finally reported a story correctly. Not only is there going to be some hideous janky parade sneaking through town, you five are the architects if this outrage." Cheryl states. "What the hell do you want bombshell? Can't you see we have more important things to do then watch too much lipstick babble on?" You ask. "I am not wearing too much lipstick. And my problem is that the 4th of July is a day of tragedy for Riverdale, not celebration. Or have you forgotten what happened to my poor brother Jason?" She asks. "Cheryl, no one gives a fuck about your dead brother anymore. Catch up." You state. "Riverdale hasn't held a parade out of respect to what happened to your brother in.. like year. I think it's time." Betty says. "I mean, you don't have to come." Jughead says. You fist bump him. "Oh, I'll be there, insufferable smurf. Front and Center, with a sign of protest in one hand, and a horn of compressed air to silence any revelry in the other." Cheryl says going back to her car. "See ya there!" You yell as she drives off. "Anyone hungry for breakfast?" Jughead asks. "Is that even a question?" You ask standing. You all go inside an order pancakes. "So, camping this weekend, are we still on?" Jughead asks. "I'm open, but what are we talking about here? Like?" She asks. "The woods. But, remember, this could.. possibly be our last summer to do this, because next year you all will be going to college and I'll still be living with f.p and Jellybean. And if anyone is scared of bears, don't be, because Archie will get attacked by it and I will stab it in the through it's neck with a hot stick." You state. "Hey, I wear my scars proudly." Archie says and you all laugh. "Last night, in the shower, I counted my scars. I have 31." You say with a smile. "31 scars?" Veronica asks. You nod. Archies phone rings. "Hey dad." Archie says getting up and stepping away. "you know, i'm just realizing this, we are the hottest people in Riverdale." You say. They laugh and agree. "Y/n, your wrong. You are the hottest person in Riverdale." Jughead says putting his arm around you. You kiss him. "Ew. Your lips are sticky with syrup." You say wiping them. They all laugh. You look over at Ar how and he drops his phone. "Red!" You yell running to him. He falls but you catch him. You all keep asking him if he okay but he doesn't answer. "I gotta go." He says getting up and leaving. "What the hell?" You ask as Veronica follows him out the door and drives away.

You all get together in Archies backyard. "Hey, do you remember the treehouse you dad  helped us build?" Reggie asks. You mean the one he built?" Jughead asks. "I remember you fell out of it, Reg." Archie says. You all chuckle. "I broke my arm. Your dad drove me to the hospital." Reggie says. "I can't believe Fred died. What are we gonna do without him?" You ask.  "I remember this one time, we were having a picnic, when we in grade school at Pickens Park. We had a great time that day, Archie." Betty says. "Yeah." Archie agrees. You start to laugh hardly. "What?" They all ask. "This one time, I went to Reds house to find him but he wasn't there. It was just his dad. We watched football an di acted like I knew what was going on, when I didn't. He grabbed me a beer and said, 'here. I won't tell Hiram'. That was when I thought he was my dad, you know? I popped it open and it squirted in my face. Fred laughed so hard he couldn't breath and we both cried for about an hour because of how much we laughed. He told me he shook it a lot before handing it to me. Red, you remember? When you came home and me and your dad were on the bean bags laughing so hard with beer all over the floor?" You ask. "Yeah. I was so confused, I never even asked what happened." He replies. You all laugh. "When things started getting bad with my Dad and drinking, my mom would call up Fred.. for help. And he would drive to the bar, and he would pick up my dad and he'd lay him on the couch. And he'd always stay a little while.. just to tale to me, see how I was doing in school, and.. if I'd eaten dinner. He just wanted to know if I was hungry. I always was." Jughead says trying to laugh with tears in his eyes. "Your dad was such a good guy, Archie. Do you know how many times he's driven me to the hospital?" You ask. "He was the best. He built and donated all the sets for the musical." Kevin states. Archie begins to cry. You stand up and sit next to him. "you don't have to but, do you have any memories you want to share?" You ask putting your arm around him. "i remember going to uh- going to Sears with him, just so I could ride the tractors. He taught me everything. He taught me how to play football, baseball, pretty much every sport. We fixed up the jalopy together. He bought me my first guitar. He even sound-proofed the garage just so.." Archie stops and gets up to leave. "Archie." Veronica calls. "I'm good. I just, I'm wiped out, guy. Could we call it a day?" Archie asks. You all nod and he walks inside.
