(l/n) was in Shimizu's arms, standing still, and frozen.  "Oh crap." Shimizu said. "Kiyo what do I do?" (l/n) asked. "(y/n), are you good? Are you still bothered by what I said over break or," Nishinoya asked. (l/n) didn't know what to say other than, 'Uh', until she stood up straight. "Nishi.." Tanaka's eyes widened. "Good luck bro," he said as he grabbed Shimizu's hand.

(l/n) began to speak. "I kinda sorta caught feelings for a dude at training camp. His name is Kanemoto Haru and I know you said to take a break but-" Nishinoya cut her off. "(y/n), are you serious? It was a break, it wasn't an actual break up to the point where you suddenly catch feelings for a guy after what, like a week?"

"Yu, don't go acting like you didn't flirt around with girls when you went to the beach with Ryu. You legit, posted on your story, 'Look at all these babes.' "

Nishinoya's face turned red. "Yea that? Oh uh... Well it wasn't like I was hooking up with them! I talked about you the whole time!"

"I'm sorry Yu but I don't think this will work out." (l/n) said with a stern voice. She walked towards Shimizu and Tanaka walked over to Noya. "You good bro?" He asked to make sure his best friend wasn't hurt. "Ryu, did I just get dumped?"

It was now time for the assembly where the principal updated the students and told them about the things they were planning on doing for the rest of the school year. They had introduced a new club in which one of the teachers managed to create for students who wanted to swim. Shimizu looked at the side of her and saw how (l/n) was listening and watching very intently. As you already know, (l/n) was an advanced swimmer. She always made it to first place. Relays weren't really her thing so she usually stuck to freestyle.

[TIMESKIP]

It was now lunch and (l/n) was sitting with Shimizu and Kanemoto at her desk. "Kiyoko, you didn't tell me you knew (y/n)!" "Haru, you literally just met her last month. How was I supposed to know?" (l/n) was just sitting in between the two, eating her lunch. "(y/n), how did you guys even start talking?" Shimizu asked. "Uh, well you see... You know how I tend to randomly say things?" Shimizu slapped her hand to her face. (l/n) has a bad habit of saying things without thinking, which can either cause arguments or make new friends. Kanemoto put his arms around (l/n).

As (l/n) was explaining the other details, Nishinoya was just staring at them intently at Tanaka's desk while Tanaka was eating his lunch. "Why do things have to change Ryu," Nishinoya asked. "It's ok, some things never change man! I've been listening to the same song on loop for the past week." Nishinoya asked what song it was and Tanaka looked embarrassed. "It's uh, Psycho by Red Velvet."

"Moving on!" Nishinoya said to change the subject while taking one of Tanaka's earbuds so he was able to listen along with him. "No offense Ryu but the one person I go to for advice is currently on her honey moon." Emphasize the words 'honey moon' a bit. Nishinoya was clenching his fists as he got up and walked out of the classroom for a bit.

(l/n) watched him walk out the room and felt her stomach flutter a bit. "Oh yea, I need to finish my lunch." she said thinking that she was just hungry. She started to think about the memories she had had with Nishinoya, and how she got that nick name of 'Chibi'.

Nishinoya and (l/n) were in their 3rd year of grade school and they were eating their lunch together. "You know (y/n)," Nishinoya spoke. "Your cheeks are chubby!" (l/n) just looked at him and pinched his cheeks as a way to show she was offended.

"Ow, wait you didn't let me finish!" She let go. "I was just gonna say they were cute! As your  best friend, I should tell you all the good things about you!" (l/n) just started smiling and gave him one of her chocolate bread buns.

"Yu, did you know you kinda of remind me of a bear?" Nishinoya gasped. "Did you just call me big and fat?" he asked. "No, I'm just saying whenever we hug each other in the mornings I never wanna let go! You're like a teddy bear. So, from now on, your nickname from me will be 'Kuma'!" The two of them started laughing.

"Well if I get a nickname from you then that means you get a nickname from me too! Hm, your new nickname is gonna be 'Chibi'!" They talked about different things as they finished their lunches.

It was now the end of lunch which meant Shimizu and Kanemoto had to go back to the 3rd year floor. Tanaka, Nishinoya, and (l/n) had this class together since none of them were any good at science. Nishinoya came back to the classroom and sat in his seat in between Tanaka and (l/n). It was a little bit awkward between the two but they made their way and ended up talking to each other like nothing happened.

The day went on smoothly other than the fact Nishinoya held a grudge against Kanemoto and won't stop giving him death stares. After school announcements were being held and (l/n) started listening once she heard, 'swim try outs'.

"Swim club try outs will be held this Friday at the local aquatic center. Make sure to be prepared and have the proper swim gear or whatever you need...."

She pulled out her phone to text Kanemoto and asked him if he was going to try out for the swim club. A few seconds later, he replied with, "If you're gonna go then I'm going too". Nishinoya was standing next to (l/n) and scared her since she hadn't noticed he was there the whole time. "Yu-" "Hi Chibi! What are you doing?"

"Just texting Kanemoto. We're going to try out for the swim club. Anyways, I gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow, bye Yu!" And with that, (l/n) left Nishinoya by himself until Tanaka came. "Yo, Noya are you okay?"

"What if I tried out for the swim team? You know, try something new for a change?" Tanaka's eyes widened as he stood there in shock. "Bro are you sure you're ready to do that? I mean, you might drown in the pool with your height." Nishinoya kicked him and defended himself by telling Tanaka he wasn't that short and that Tanaka was just tall.

"Well if you're actually gonna go to the swim try outs then you'll have to tell Daichi first. Or else he's gonna be pissed. Plus, you're our libero! We might have to find a substitute for you."

"Then I'll just tell Daichi during practice. It's not gonna be that hard right?"

[TIMESKIP TO PRACTICE]

"Ryu, I'm too scared to tell Daichi." Nishinoya stood on the court holding a volleyball. "I heard my name? Is anything wrong Nishinoya?"

"Huh? Oh it's uh..." He started mumbling things while Tanaka looked disappointed in him. "Noya, you said it wasn't gonna be hard telling Daichi that you wanted to go to the swim try outs on Friday. What's the big deal?"

Daichi looked at Tanaka and Nishinoya froze as he soon felt Daichi's eyes land on him. "Is this true?"

"Well, ok yea. I wanna try something new. If that's okay with you though! I mean I don't really-"

"It's for (l/n) isn't it?"

"Yea.."

"And you want to win her back?"

"Yea.."

"You're Jealous?"

"Sorta.. When are the questions gonna stop?"

Daichi stifled a laugh. "I can talk to Takeda to see what we can do. You can go to try outs on Friday, but if you actually make it in then we'll need to find a temporary replacement."

Nishinoya looked at Daichi with stars in his eyes. "Wait really?!" He just nodded. Nishinoya then looked at Tanaka and jumped using his shoulders as elevation. "WE DID IT RYU! I CAN GO TO SWIM TRY OUTS TO WIN BACK (Y/N)"
