7 ⇢ 𝗧𝗥𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦 ッ

Tryouts had started, and there were two assigned teams. Kanemoto and Nishinoya were in the boys' division while (l/n) was in the girls'. The two boys had held grudges against each other the whole time they were there. (l/n) had noticed how Kanemoto would purposely bump into Nishinoya whenever he passed by him.

It ticked her off a bit. Did he really need to bump into him like that? She thought about telling Kanemoto off but Noya looked her way and gave her a smile. It was now time for the timed freestyle races. The last stroke they were timed in for the day. The girls division was up first.

When it comes to swimming, (l/n)'s specialty is freestyle. She wasn't really the type to do relays or any other strokes. Her and 3 other girls were told to go up first and get timed. She walked over to the board, and saw how Nishinoya and Kanemoto were watching her from the sidelines. She gave Noya a thumbs up and put her goggles on, along with her swim cap.

Getting ready to dive into the water, the announcer started their countdown. "On your marks... GO" They shot a gun which indicated for them to dive in. (l/n) was in the lead. A very huge gap between her and the rest. Nishinoya, Tanaka, and Kanemoto watched her, their jaws dropping to the ground. They knew she was an advanced swimmer, but they didn't know she was that fast.

Once she hit 50 meters, she made a quick turn and swam back to where she started.
With a time of 56 seconds, she made it on to first place. The coaches were in shock. They've never seen or had a student who swam at that rate.

(note : they have to swim 100 meters)

"(Y/N)" Nishinoya yelled from the sidelines. As she got out of the swimming pool, one of their coaches walked up to her and handed her a towel. "You have such talent, (l/n)" she had said. She helped her out the pool and pulled her aside. (l/n) thanked her and striked up a conversation. While the rest of the girls were timed, she had noticed that one of the girls from her group had a time that was pretty close to her's, about 59 seconds.

Being the person she was, (l/n) walked up to her to start a conversation. "Yo, I'm (l/n) (y/n)! You seemed pretty cool so I just wanted to say hi"

"Oh, I'm Mabuchi Kaede. I think I've heard about you before. People seem to call you the mini Kiyoko at school" she said with a smile. "Wait they really do?" (l/n) questioned. "I thought people were just joking" Mabuchi nodded. "Well, it's nice to finally speak to you, I guess. Other than that, you have some competition."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean that I'll probably surpass your recorded time for freestyle." Mabuchi said with a grim smirk. (l/n) tilted her head. "It isn't like I really care about my time. Surpass me all you want. I won't be a bitch about it like you." Nishinoya walked up to the two and gently pulled (l/n) away with a smile. "Excuse us for a sec, I need to talk to (y/n)," he had said.

As they got away, Nishinoya bursted out laughing. "Man you have such short temper." "Ok, but hear me out Yu.. She got on my last nerves."

"Uh huh, well you did good and-"

"Bro, and she had the AUDACITY to say she was MY competition. Like okay, maybe you can beat my times in other strokes, but don't-"

"Ayo, (y/n) flaming people for fun? AGAIN?"

"I mean... I can flame you if you want- Ayo?! Yu with a degrading kink confirmed?"

"SHUT UP NO I DON'T"

(l/n) stifled a laugh. "Whatever you say! Anyways, I think you're going up next.. so GOOD LUCK"

(l/n) patted Nishinoya on the back and speed walked away. Nishinoya took a deep breath and walked toward the diving board. Same procedures were held. Putting his goggles on, he looked to the side of him to see Kanemoto. "On your marks.... GO" The gun was shot and they were off.
