Nishinoya tensely made his way to the main office not sure if he was in trouble. Opening the door he saw Mabuchi standing in front of one of the swim team's coaches looking his way. he waved at her to be polite and she waved back. "Nishinoya Yu, right?" the coach had asked to ensure he was the right student.
"Yes, sir," he replied clueless on what was happening. "As you already know, I'm one of your coaches. I'm gonna have you and Ms. Mabuchi pass and hang up flyers for our swim team."
"Wait, don't we have enough members though?"
"Yes, but the more the merrier!" Nishinoya looked around the office to see if there were any other members. "Wait, how come (y/n) isn't here? Shouldn't she be passing them out along with me? You know, since we're both second years?"
"Her and the team captains are at a student council meeting. They're kinda busy right now so she asked for you to take her spot in this." He smiled at the thought of (l/n) thinking about him as her first choice.
"Now, get going! Before most of the students leave to go home," coach had said."We'll be back, Mr. Yamazaki," Mabuchi said as the two exited the room. As they made their way down the hallway the bell rang for dismissal. Nishinoya thought splitting up would be a good idea to get more members to join, but mabuchi told him that sticking together would be much "safer".
So, she clung onto his arm. He looked down at her with a weird facial expression, soon sighing.Time has passed by and they were only able to recruit two new members. Not that bad but it isn't much either. Since Nishinoya lost Mabuchi in the crowd a while back, he made his way to the student council room to see (l/n). Mabuchi soon bumped into him causing the both of them to fall as papers flew everywhere.
He groaned as he opened his eyes. "Man, watch where you're-"
She was on top of him, her arms holding her up. He made eye contact with her about to get up until (l/n) opened the door to see what the loud thud was. "What the hell was that noise," she said as she looked both left and right. Looking down, she saw what had happened. "Oh?"
"(y/n), it isn't what it looks like," Noya said in defense. Mabuchi dropped on top of him causing him to push her off. "In the middle of the hallway, dude? You guys could've done it somewhere else." she said as she stifled a laugh. One of the members looked out the door to see what happened as well. "(l/n), why aren't you helping them up?"
"Oh yea, sorry." She went to help Nishinoya stand up. "Thank you." She looked at him, soon mumbling an, "Mhm." "Are you guys okay?" one of the members asked. "Yea, Mabuchi bumped into me. It's not a big deal."
"Well, the meeting is over so we should head home, Yu." (l/n) went to get her bag, signalling Noya to go to the office to get his. She stared at Mabuchi for a bit and gave her a smirk along with a wave before heading down the staircase.
Nishinoya ended up having to run down the stairs to catch up with her since she left him behind. She was waiting for him at the front gate while messaging someone. That someone was unknown to Nishinoya since she put her phone away once he got closer to her."You ready?" He nodded in response. They were making their way to their neighborhood.
Nishinoya was about to ask her a question until he noticed how she had her earbuds on. He nudged her a bit and signaled her to remove them. "You okay?" "(y/n), are you mad at me?"
She looked at him. "You're stupid."
"Is that a yes?"
"Why would I be mad at you, dumbass?" She looked at him like he was crazy. "I don't know, because of what happened before we left? I know you and Mabuchi aren't the best of team mates-"
