They started tuning their instruments. I ran to get my flute and saxophone. They were one of the few things salvaged from my old life. I had named my flute Ann Maleficum once. Maleficum meant witch doctor in Latin, which showed what kind of person I am. I moved the head joint to get it in tune, then started playing the high part of Jinxx's music on my flute. I played the rest on his violin after. It did come out quite well, despite C.C.'s slightly crazed drumming in the background.
Finally, Ash rose his arms in a sign for us to stop. I sat down on the risers and watched them practice, songs like Love isn't always Fair, or All Your Hate. A few times C.C. not-so-accidentally send a drumstick flying, once at Ash's head, another into Jake's back. He wasn't well-received, to say the least.
When they started playing Fallen Angels, I shoved C.C. off his seat and took over the drums. It was the first song I had heard from them, so I had learned everything well. I changed a few things, but only minor ones, and it made it sound even cooler. Ash laughed and seemed to alter his bass guitar playing a bit.
Suddenly, the doors swung open. A small boy, maybe 5 years old, ran in, eyes wide.
"They came for Epril."
