September 30, 1974.
Stevie was at work when the doorbell rang. So Lindsey answered it and signed the papers for the delivery guys. Lindsey directed them to put the things in the room they were designated and then once they left he went to work. He had no idea what Stevie's vision was, but he set it up how he thought it would look good.
In the room with the fire place Stevie had bought a red fabric loveseat and matching L shaped sectional, along with one red arm chair. He retrieved the designated blanket from their bedroom that went in this room. It was a white blanket with red, light blue, navy, and gold stripes on it. She had three gold throw pillows for this couch. He put the red arm chair at an angle by the fire place and then he put the giant sectional in the center of the room and the red love seat he pushed against the wall by the dark wooden end tables she picked out for it and the blue Tiffany lamps she bought. There was also a dark brown coffee table that he put between the fire place and the sectional.
He moved to the dining room and it was pretty much done all he had to do was push the chair in. She chose a dark wooden table that sat eight and the brown leather chairs that went with it. The barstools where pretty much the same she had gotten black metal ones with white cushions.
Moving into the other family space he set up the dark brown TV Stand and the TV and then he set up the furniture. there was a glass coffee table and two glass end tables. He put the brown leather couch across from thhe television and the matching brown leather love seat was perpendicular to it as well as the two leather arm chairs. In this room she had placed a white fuzzy blanket on the back of the couch and they had white throw pillows. But they also had a blanket thing. He didn't remember what Stevie called it but she bought blankets to put in it and the lid could close. He had grabbed the multitude of blankets from their bedroom and brought them downstairs. There was a red velvet one. A navy blue velvet one, a pink knit one, a deep purple fur throw, A red woven one, a bohemian stripped blanket with one of the straps being yellow with white flowers another being a red geometric pattern, and there were oranges and black and white colors on it.
Upstairs in their bedroom he had put the bed where Stevie had laid out their blankets the night prior. She had picked out a giant dark brown four poster king sized bed and mattress set. He made the bed with their gold and cream silky comforter and their white sheets. They had gotten several colors of sheets but the ones that Stevie had laid out the night prior were the white ones. On the bed he had put her three gold accent pillows and then he set up the two dressers. There was a tall five drawer dresser and another dresser with a mirror with six drawers, The top three were in a singular and they were smaller Stevie already telling him that their underwear would go in those drawers.By the fire place in their room she had gotten two accent chairs with white quilted backs and then pushed up under the wall was a white dragon chaise lounger. In the corner of the room she had a white rolling desk chair with a quilted back and a long dark brown L shaped desk because that's where she was planning on doing her homework in the form of a little makeshift office. There was also a bench at the foot of their bed she had gotten a gold velvet blanket do go on the foot of the bed and a second white fuzzy one to go on the back of one of the chairs.
The guest bedrooms where all the same just a mattress and boxed spring with white sheets and white bedspreads, and two. light brown cheapish night stands and lamps. All that was left for Stevie to do was to put the decorations she had accumulated around the house. But by the time he had moved all of the furniture Lindsey was tired so he crawled on their bed and passed out.
When Stevie got home, she smiled seeing the table in the entry way with the little blue Tiffany bowl that she bought for keys and stuff was set up and she saw her tan accent chairs by the built in bookshelf and her heart soared. He had done all of that for her and he had set everything up perfectly. Even outside in the backyard he had set up her tan patio furniture and six seater table and the four tan chaise loungers by the pool and she went to find him to thank him. She found him in their bedroom and she chuckled lightly before grabbing her pillow off of the bed and wacking him with it.
"What?" He jumps at the contact his breathing picking up
"I never told you how I wanted the rooms set up, but you set them up perfectly, thank you." She smiles.
"I just put them where I thought they'd look good. But in other news we have to go shopping. We have no food in this house. And I brought all of my stuff so I'm not going back to San Francisco save for our wedding." Lindsey explains.
"Right, I guess we should go shouldn't we. We can use the money that's left over from the furniture voucher." She sighs.
"Shall we go now, because you can't really cook anything and I'm starving." He tells her.
"Why do I have to cook?" Stevie asks.
"Because the only thing I know how to do is cook steak and burgers on the grill. So unless you want to live on that for the rest of your life than you're probably going to want to cook everything." Lindsey explains.
"Well I don't get home until after five most nights and then I do a girls night with Robin every Friday so you're going to have to learn." Stevie smirks patting his cheek and grabbing her purse motioning for him to follow her.
