Chapter Five: The Time In Between Part 2

Hey you guy sorry I haven't updated lately, I've just been busy with school and stuff 😓 but i would like to thank those that have been patient and here is the chapter you have been waiting for !

Focuses on Elijah

There was a whole crowd now, blocking the scene of Kai's murder and causing a commotion. I tried to explain but before i could say anything viscount Malcom appeared out of nowhere saying " look !, i knew that scoundrel couldn't be trusted but nobody believed me and now look the youngest prince is dead" he said with a dark tone. I was shocked regardless of what was happening around the kingdom I hadn't been let in on who the suspects were. I knew that if i stayed that I would be grabbed by the other guards who were most likely just around the corner. I played out multiple scenarios in my head at that moment, if i pleaded my innocence the someone will just find a different way to drag me and Katharine down but if i played the villain right now than at least I know Katherine will be spared.

 even though i know what will happen to me, I've already been framed and there's no way for me to solve it myself Elijah thought sadly. " Bam" two knights from the 2nd Division rush through the door, one tackles me to the floor, another holds a sword to above my head. " Knight Elijah, you have been charged with first degree murder of the royal family and shall be put to court as soon as possible, when Katherine comes back she shall also be put through questioning as well" says the knight holding Elijah. I glared at them , "didnt you know me, how could you just turn on me like that" thought Elijah biterly. I stopped and thought for a minute.

Were we ever really friends, whenever we talked all they really asked about was details about house Agriche. I started recalling more information, who was it that alerted the others i was here so quickly, how did they know my sister was in Lyrienth if it was a secret, why did so many know about the suspects if it was just revealed to me now. Is someone forming a plan that's bigger than all of us?. Before I could react i was dragged to my feet, hands chained and escorted out the door, i remembered the journey that i have been keeping track of and writing in. It contained everyone that I suspected, all the secrets of court that are calculating against us, and all the information about where all of house Agriche secrets is hidden and our history. It was hidden in my desk in the Agriche household if someone were to conduct an investigation they would find it but I couldn't let that happen.

I knew i had to find someway to get it to her, as it is the only way to help her with my future in jail. I grabbed my dagger which was hidden in one of my pockets and stabbed the lower leg of the guard on my right, and then while he crouched in pain I elbowed the guard on my left in the face and then punched him in the gut. He stumbled and fell backwards after that I ran full speed down the hall, once i got to the end of their hall i noticed there was a dead end " Crap" Elijah cursed, the only exit was a window and with my hands tied it was going to be a risky exist. I heard the others gaining up on me and i knew if i didn't do it now i would be captured, so  before i could hesitate I jumped out the window breaking its glass. Unfortunately i was on the 3rd story but with my legs free i managed to get some foothold on a branch and jumped reaching for a vine. 

I was able to jump all the way down to the floor, i let go and braced my self for the impact. My feet hit the ground first and I used that to roll which would lessen the chances of an injury. I rushed to my house from a secret path in the woods that was used only by my family through a code only we knew. I existed the path and made my way to the entrance of my house, once i was inside I released the cuffs around my hand by using a hair pin Katherine had left laying around. " Thank Lord"  Elijah exclaimed nervously, then I rushed up the stairs.
