Jessika

After the shower we got ready together quickly. I didn't have a change of clothes but Damien let me borrow a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, which were both much too large. Damien assured me that we wouldn't be going anywhere important today.

We descended the stairs together, the dog pack following close behind us. Once we got downstairs Damien fed the dogs breakfast before turning to me, "Are you hungry?" he asked. I nodded my head eagerly which made him laugh.

"What would you like to eat, princess?"

"Anything as long as it includes coffee"

"I can definitely do coffee. It will put that Starbucks mess to shame" Damien teased.

I pushed his shoulder slightly as I settled myself in a stool behind the kitchen island . Damien turned around and began making the coffee. Once that started brewing he opened the fridge and got out ingredients to make breakfast. I couldn't tell what he was making at first, but ended up seeing that he was making French Toast. My mouth watered, and not just because of the food he was making. Damien looked so sexy standing there in the kitchen, the tight sweatpants accentuating the bulge of his manhood.

Damien looked over and noticed me staring. He put his spatula down as he looked me in the eyes. "Don't make me bend you over this counter and fuck you senseless."

My heart started racing as he continued to stare, a delicious lust in his eyes. The heat of his eyes as they stared at me traveled down to my core, and I had to squeeze my legs together to ease the ache. Before I had a chance to beg him to do it, my stomach growled. Loud. I pouted as I looked down at my stomach, angry that it killed the mood.

The lust in Damien's eyes was replaced with amusement as he turned back towards the stove. A few moments later he grabbed a plate and set it before me along with a cup of coffee. I took a small sip of the coffee and my eyes widened. His coffee was good. No, it was better than good. It was great. The smooth, rich flavor spread across my tongue as hints of raspberry and coco overcame my taste buds. I closed my eyes to enjoy the flavor for a moment before turning to Damien who was now seated next to me. "You sir, are hired" I said.

Damien smiled and shrugged his shoulder. "Told you it would be better." A strange look passed through Damien's eyes as he looked down at his plate. "In this pretend world I would make you coffee and breakfast every morning."

A lump grew in my throat as I processed his words. He seemed so saddened by that last sentence, and for some reason I was a bit saddened, too. But he was just trying his best to cheer me up from last night, that was all. There was nothing else to it, right?

An awkward silence filled the space between us as we finished our food. His dogs filed into the kitchen as they finished their meal, their happy tails wagging all over the place. Damien smiled brightly at them as he said "Ready to go for a walk?"

The dogs instantly started freaking out, jumping all over the place and running into each other as they made their way to the sliding glass door in the back. Luckily Damien had grabbed sneakers for me last night, so I slipped those on as we headed out the back.

As soon as we entered the back yard, I gasped. His yard was ginormous. Not only was there plenty of space for the dogs to run around, but he also had a whole forest connected at the back. I could see a well kept trail that led into the forest where the dogs were headed and excitement overcame me.

We crossed the yard quickly and began walking into the forest. The pack led the way like experts, knowing exactly where they were going. I was in awe as I looked at the forest around me, the morning fog still clouding the tops of the trees. It was absolutely stunning. Birds started tweeting as they woke up from their slumber, and squirrels bolted from their bushes as the dogs chased them up trees.

I felt Damien's hand brush up against mine before he grabbed on to it, interlocking our fingers. I looked up at him questioningly, but Damien didn't seem fazed by the gesture. "We're pretending we are a happy couple, right? This is what happy couples do. They hold hands."

Right. A happy couple. I looked around at the pack running around me and my heart swelled. This pretend relationship was lucky. I could get used to this. I looked up at him with a challenging gaze. "Well, a happy couple would know things about each other. Personal things."

He nodded. "You're right. What is your favorite color?"

"Blue."

"What kind of blue?"

"Like your eyes, blue" I blurted.

Damien blushed softly as a wide smile spread across his face.

"A happy couple would tell their partner they should smile more often. It looks good on them" I said softly.

Damien leaned over and kissed my temple softly. "You're too nice, princess."

"I'm just telling the truth. But now it's my turn. What made you start Hart Management in the first place?"

Damien pondered the question for a moment before answering. "Well I was a photographer first. I loved the camera and I still do. Photography is like a love affair with life, there's such a thrill to it. And I found that the best pictures I took were of the models who expressed the same amount of love towards the camera that I did. So that's when I decided to start my business. To teach people how to love from the other side of the camera."

"Wow, you sound very passionate about it."

"I am. I still pick up the camera every now and then but not as much as I wish I could" Damien said as he looked down, kicking a rock that was in his path.

"Hey it's fine, I'll be your model anytime." I joked.

Damien looked at me with wide eyes, though, clearly not sensing the joke in my tone. He looked like a kid who was just told by his mom that they can go to McDonald's for ice cream. "Really? You would let me photograph you?" He asked.

"Ya, why not?" I said. I didn't want to kill his hopes despite the fact that it made me VERY nervous to be in front of a camera.

Damien took my hand and placed a soft kiss on the back. "What else do you want to know, princess?"

"Have you ever been married?" I asked.

Damien's smile faltered for a moment, and his grip on my hand loosened. I instantly regretted asking. Clearly this was a sensitive topic for him. But why?

"I'm sorry, you don't have to answer that if you don't want to." I said.

Damien nodded in response. "I'm sorry, it's just... I can't really..."

"Hey, it's okay. Don't worry about it." I said.

Damien whistled loudly before shouting, "C'mon pack, let's head back home." They instantly followed his orders as they started running back towards where we came. I could feel the sadness radiating off of him and I wanted nothing more than to wrap my arms around him. To comfort him. But I also wanted to know why. Did they divorce? Did she leave him? Everyone knows him as the most eligible bachelor so clearly she isn't around anymore. What happened?

As we continued to hold hands and stroll through the forest, I made a goal in the back of my mind to find out what really happened to Damien.
