I Didn't Care

The next few days that passed had me drowning in work. Damien was pulled away for an emergency and with him gone, I had to take on more tasks. Appointments and meetings had to be rescheduled, but new meetings with possible business partners also had to be scheduled. Models that were unable to reach Damien were blowing up my phone, a lot of them for no reason and at crazy hours of the night.

I couldn't wait till Damien got back. Not only so that I could get a good nights sleep without being interrupted, but also because I was sexually frustrated. I couldn't get that night on the 40th floor out of my head. I was in shock at first, yes, but now I was curious. There was so much I wanted to try and experiment with...

The phone ringing jolted me out of my thoughts. I looked down to see Damien's name flashing on my screen. Speak of the devil...

"Hello, Mr. Hart, are you coming back yet?" I asked quickly.

"Ah, princess. So eager. I knew you'd fall for me first." I could almost hear his smugness through the phone.

"Yes I'm eager. But only because Natasha won't stop calling me about her appointment with you. If you think someone's falling in love with you, you should check her out." I said. No joke, I got a call from her at 3AM asking if she could see him today. I almost lost my shit.

"Tell Natasha to fuck off."

"You can tell her yourself when you get back. Which is when?"

"Tomorrow, princess. Bright and early. And I was calling to see if you wanted to grab breakfast with me."

A small smile came to my face. He was asking me to breakfast because he missed me. I was so winning.

"Sure. As long as we can stop by Starbucks, too and get my raspberry white chocolate mocha."

"What is it with you and that god awful drink."

"Sir, you can say whatever you want about me. But don't come for my coffee."

"Princess that's not coffee, that's candy in a cup. I'll pick you up by 6. Don't forget." Damien said, ending the call.

I sighed, looking at the clock. It was 3:30. I typically didn't leave until around 6 or 7. But, then again, there wasn't anything saying I had to stay that late. Not even in the so called job description.

I called Charles and told him I was ready to leave. I was always curious as to what he did during the day because he was always ready outside in minutes. We had gotten to know each other a little more over the last few days on our car rides and he was a really cool guy. Apparently he's been a body guard employed by Damien for years. He used to travel with models across the globe but he told Damien he wanted a more permanent position in Seattle to be with his family. That's when I came along. It was almost as if our pairing was meant to be.

I closed up the office and got to the car where Charles was waiting. "Ah, Ms. Blake. You're off early today."

"Yes I am Charles. I'm so ready to crawl in bed." I leaned back against the seat and closed my eyes, letting exhaustion take over. "Charles, can I ask you a question?"

"Of course, Ms. Blake."

"Where are you during the day, and how do you always get to me so fast?"

"I am everywhere and nowhere all at once, Ms. Blake."

"That's the best answer I'm gonna get, isn't it?"

"Yes Ms. Blake."

I guess I must have fallen asleep because seconds later Charles was waking me up to tell me I was home. I thanked Charles as always and walked up the stairs to my apartment. I was so excited to just lay in my bed and fall back asleep.
