Chapter 6: You Get Your Ass Whooped A Lot

Daniel finishes washing the last of the egg yolk out of his hair. As he smooths back his hair with his hand, he hears someone come in looking for Johnny. The boy in a skeleton costume knocks on the stall door and Johnny, also in a full-on skeleton costume and makeup, peaks his head up from inside the stall. "You got the number rolled yet, man," his buddy asks. Holding one of the headphones away from his ear, Johnny replies, "in a minute."

"Alright, I'm gonna go get the guys, okay?"

"Okay."

"Hurry up!" his friend rushes him before leaving the restroom. Daniel hides behind his curtains so the guy doesn't see him. As soon as he's gone, he makes his way to the sink behind him and grabs the hose. He sneaks over to Johnny's stall and places the hose on the pipes above so it's directly over the blonde, who is completely unaware as he rolls a joint. Daniel goes back to the sink and turns the knob, releasing water through the hose and onto Johnny. "Shit!" he shrieks as he feels the cold water cascade down his body. Daniel tries to run out but a random guy enters the bathroom, slowing him down. "Move, man!" he shouts as he sprints out.

"Get out of the way! Get out of the way! Look out!" Daniel bellows as he darts through the gym. People make space for him to freely pass through and Rosalía spots him. "What happened?" she questions as he approaches her. "Karma," he tells her with a dopey grin on his face as he zooms by, handing his showerhead prop to her. She watches in confusion as he runs away faster than The Flash. Her confusion is replaced with realization when she hears yelling and turns to see the Cobras running from the direction Daniel came from. Oh, hell no, she thinks as she quickly takes action. She sticks the showerhead out, tripping Johnny, which causes the rest of his followers to topple on top of him. "Get up," he orders as they all scramble to their feet and dash out of the gym.

Rosalía smirks, it felt good to do that after all the shit he put her through. Concern soon washes over her, however, when she thinks about what he's going to do to Daniel. She starts to make her way out but Kara clasps her wrist and she turns to face her. "Where are you going?" she asks. "I'm going after them, Johnny's gonna hurt him!" Rosalía answers, snatching her wrist away. "Rosalía, don't! You can't stop him," Marissa adds. The girl shakes her head. "I have to try," she declares before running out.

Once she's outside, she pauses when she sees a car accident on the road. Holy shit. She looks around and spots skeletal figures in the distance and takes off after them. Fuck, I regret wearing heels, she thinks as she races after the boys.

Daniel climbs to the top of the fence but is instantly pulled down by the Cobras. "He ain't going over," Johnny says as they all holler like maniacs. "We got him now," one of them yells as Johnny yanks him away from the fence. He pushes him to one of his pals, who catches him and insults, "you little wimp!" He hits Daniel then sends him flying toward Johnny, who grabs him by his shirt. "You couldn't leave well enough alone, could you, little twerp?" he spits, roughly shaking Daniel. "No, you had to push it. Well, now you're gonna pay," he threatens, pure rage lacing every word. He punches Daniel in the stomach, making him double over.

Rosalía stops at a fence and views them beating Daniel on the other side. She takes her shoes off and throws them over the fence before climbing over it and hopping down on the other side. She collects the heels and runs barefoot through the grass. She slows down when she spots a figure climbing over the fence behind the boys. What the hell? Her eyes widen when she realizes it's none other than her father's good friend, Mr. Miyagi. Johnny yells and runs at Daniel but Mr. Miyagi hops down and pushes Daniel out of the way. Johnny ends up kicking the sign on the fence instead, breaking it into pieces. He turns around and sees the older man in front of him.

"Tommy, Bobby, get him!" he barks. The two obey and launch themselves at the man but he gets the better of them. Rosalía's jaw drops as she watches Mr. Miyagi take them all down. Johnny is the last one standing, so he tries to fight the man but Mr. Miyagi quickly ends him with a flip and karate chop. Damn, viejito [old man] got some moves. He and the girl make eye contact and she just stares at him in astonishment. He grins at her but turns around when he hears Daniel groan behind him. "Oh my God, Daniel," Rosalía mumbles, running up and kneeling beside him. His vision blurs as he drifts in and out and he sees the girl's face above him. She carefully cradles his head and caresses his cheek before he blacks out. Mr. Miyagi comes over and lifts him over his shoulder, taking him inside.
