Chapter 26: The Typhoon

The couple gets dressed after their love declaration. Rosalía fixes her messy hair and turns around to see Daniel smirking at her as he buttons up his shirt. She smirks back, admiring how sexy he looks with tousled hair. "What?" she questions. "Nothing... you're just really hot," he comments. The girl walks up to him, tangling her hand in his hair. "So are you," she replies, planting a long kiss on his lips. Daniel blushes and smiles widely, looking into her eyes when they pull apart. "You still love me, right?" he semi-jokingly asks. "You mean after what just happened?" the girl inquires. Daniel nods.

"Oh, yeah," Rosalía answers, smiling smugly. The boy laughs and places a hand on her face, stroking her cheek with his thumb. "Good, because me too," he whispers. They share a sweet kiss and Rosalía wraps her arms around his neck. "We finally managed to not get interrupted," she notes with a giggle. Daniel chuckles as well and mutters, "yeah."

A loud clap of thunder abruptly sounds and a strong gust of wind swoops into the room. The girl gasps and glances around. This weather doesn't feel right, she thinks as she walks past Daniel and to the window. She sees the trees moving and people evacuating their homes. She runs to her boyfriend and snatches his hand. "Come on," she urges, pulling him outside. "What? Why?" he questions. "I've heard enough stories from my grandparents to know that a big storm is coming. We're not safe here," the girl responds. "So where are we going now?" the boy inquires. "Uh, I don't know. I was planning on following everyone else," Rosalía replies as they run. They run into the village and hear a bell ringing while everyone rushes in a certain direction.

They see everyone entering a small shelter and spot Mr. Miyagi at the door. "Hey, Mr. Miyagi, wait up!" Daniel calls to him. "Come on," the man voices, reaching his hand out to the couple and guiding them inside. "Do you believe all this wind? This is wild!" the boy comments. Miyagi gently pushes them inside and responds, "and it gets wilder." They make it in and Mr. Miyagi shuts the door. "Man, now I understand what my grandparents went through," Rosalía remarks as she looks out the window. More thunder claps and rain heavily falls. Daniel squeezes his girlfriend's hand as they watch the damage being created.

"Are those people out there?" Rosalía questions. Mr. Miyagi turns to Daniel and says, "come. We go help." They go outside, followed by Rosalía, Kumiko, and Yukie. They rush to a woman with two kids. "Stay there! We coming! Stay there!" Miyagi yells out as they near the woman. "They need our help," he speaks. The lady falls and Daniel and Mr. Miyagi help her up. "Hey, are you alright? You okay?" Daniel asks her. "I got baby," Miyagi announces, taking the child from her arms. "I got the boy," Daniel chimes in, grabbing the little boy. Everyone yells things out, urging the people to go into the shelter.

"Hey," Rosalía voices, noticing a house collapsing. "Oh, no!" Miyagi exclaims. "Hey, Sato's in there," Daniel points out. They watch the house topple over in shock. "Here. Take baby," Mr. Miyagi says, passing the baby to Rosalía. "I go find Sato. Go!" he orders. The girl slightly panics, not wanting him to go alone. "Kumiko, take him," she voices as she hands the baby to Kumiko. Daniel grabs her hand as they follow after the older man and view Chozen emerging from the rubble. "Oi! Where uncle?" Mr. Miyagi questions when he nears.

"He's dead!" Chozen answers before heading to safety. The trio turns to look at the fallen house. Debris is blown away by the wind, revealing Sato stuck between wooden posts. "Oh, God," the girl utters. "Come! We must work fast!" Mr. Miyagi declares as they rapidly approach the scene. The three of them try to pull the post off of Sato but it doesn't budge. "Miyagi! Now you come to fight! Coward! Now when I am helpless!" Sato shouts. "It won't move!" Daniel informs.

Mr. Miyagi moves over and gestures for the coupe to get out of the way. "You are lower than the storm! Now whole village see! This is only way you can win!" Sato shouts as Mr. Miyagi prepares to hit the post. "Shut up!" Rosalía retorts, annoyed by his dramatic accusations. Mr. Miyagi releases a yell and strikes the post, splitting it in half. The teens gaze at him impressed. Rosalía and Miyagi pull the pieces of wood off of the man and help him up.
