School went by in a flash, mainly because y/n slept in practically every class. As soon as the bell went y/n bolted out of the class to find Julie and Flynn. They all went straight to Julie and y/n's place to finish any homework, get ready and rehearse before their first gig as a band.
"You ok?" a soft voice whispered as y/n fixed her hair up, she turned to see Alex, following Reggie.
"Yeah, I guess i am" y/n nodded, looking down at the sink. Alex and Reggie looked at each other and back at y/n.
"Y/n we're your friends, I think we can tell when you're nervous" You smile then look at the pair "Well, it's my first time performing in front of an audience, besides you guys." The duo nod, Alex stepping closer and placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. "Y/n we've heard you sing and it's absolutely amazing. Try and block out the audience and pretend it's just you, Julie and some ghosts." You all let out a small laugh and you hug both Alex and Reggie "Thanks, now let's go kill it, not literally though." You laugh as you exit behind the boys.
"Hey y/n you can do this!" Julie says rubbing your back. Flynn walks over giving you a cup of water "You'll have Julie right next to you then the boys!" You finish the water and take a deep breath "Ok, I can do this." The girls smile at you.
"Last up we have.. JuY/n and the phatones? (fatones)" You go red and Julie laughs "JuY/n doesn't even sound right" You smile "Neither does phatones. (fat ones)" You position yourself down on the piano and get comfortable, looking at Julie for a reassuring look. It was up to you, you needed to start playing so this could happen. Finally with some deep breaths you began playing the chords you remember playing at the garage with the others.
"Hearts on fire, we're no liars, so we say what we wanna say" Your legs start shaking like jelly and your heart going a million miles per hour *Don't mess this up, don't mess this up deep breaths.*
"I'm awakened, no more faking, so we push all our fears away". You and Julie keep eye contact throughout it all, Julie continues sending you reassuring smiles.
"Don't know if I'll make it 'cause I'm falling under, Close my eyes, and feel my chest beating like thunder" Julie sings with such ease, she sends you a nod meaning to join in for the next line.
"I wanna fly, come alive, watch me shine" And boom the boys all appear on stage, you jump off the keyboard and move over to an empty mic stand, placing your microphone on the stand.
"I got a spark in me, hands up if you can see and you're a part of me, hands up if you're with me, now 'til eternity, hands up if you believe. Been so long, and now we're finally free!" All your nervousness goes away within that and adrenaline takes over, rushing through all your body. Being up in the moment, with the lights in your face, music blaring, singing with your best friends and hearing the crowd roar made you so happy. You kept glancing at all of your band mates but mostly Luke, as his eyes never seemed to leave you, sending you smirks and 'you ok?' looks every time you looked over.
Within those few seconds of performing as a band you lost any worries and nerves in you and didn't even think of her Mom, Dad or Rose nor any problems she had. Although they were only up there for 3 minutes, it felt like 1 for y/n. She had enjoyed it that much, especially when the crowd kept cheering even louder and the smiles on her and her bandmates faces grew wider.
"Oh my god that was so fucking awesome!" Y/n squealed as she high-fives the band.
"Y/n you were so good out there! I knew you had it in ya but I forgot how good you were!" She pulls you in for a hug as the boys hype each other up.
"There's my superstars!" Flynn says as she runs over pulling the pair into a group hug. Julie pulls away "We better get home if we don't wanna get grounded."
"Julie we're already grounded" You laugh "Double grounded!" She grabs your wrist "Cya tomorrow Flynn? Our house?" Flynn nods and waves "I'll get you guys's autograph tomorrow! I'm a huge fan JuY/n and the phat ones!" Y/n and Julie both send Flynn the bird as you leave.
You jump onto your bed and get comfy, which didn't take much effort and surprisingly it didn't take you much to shut your eyes and begin to drift off.
"You were really good tonight." You open your eyes to see Luke. "Thanks"
"No I mean it, I had, well still have ghost bumps!" You chuckle and sit up, he takes a seat next to you. You go to lay your head on his shoulder but instead fall right through. You quickly get back up "Funny joke, did Willie teach you?" Lukes face remains shocked "N-no!" all of a sudden a small green light zaps Luke and his hands wrap around himself, trying to stop the pain. "Oh my god Luke! What's happening!" You go to help him up but your arms go through. Luke barley manages to look at you, eyes slowly watering, as do yours.
