LUX BONTERI
Lux was having the most wonderful dream about a certain Togruta girl when he was suddenly shaken out of sleep. Lux’s eyes blinked open sleepily. Who…?
“Lux!” they hissed. “Lux!”
“Goh’way…” he slurred, still half-asleep. “Lemme shleep…” He pulled the blankets up over his head, creating a warm, fuzzy cocoon around him.
“Lux, if you don’t wake up right now, this room is going to blow up!”
He could have sworn he jumped a full foot in the air. Grabbing his blaster off of his bedside table, he frantically pointed it at the shadowy corners in his room. After a few seconds, he realized that it was only Amni, and that there weren’t any explosives on the floor, walls or ceiling.
“What…?” he said.
She smiled triumphantly. “Good. You’re awake.”
He realized that it had just been a trick to get him to wake up. “Really, Amni! I was going on a solid five hours of sleep there! That’s a first for me!”
“You can sleep later,” she said quickly, sitting down on the bed beside him. He then noticed that he wasn’t wearing a shirt, and blushed. He got up, and dug through his drawers for an undershirt.
Putting one on, he turned back towards her. “Why did you wake me up? Aren’t you the one who’s always telling me to sleep?”
“And I would have let you, but I knew that you would have burned me alive and used the ashes to help the greenhouse plants grow if I didn’t wake you.” She took a deep breath. “She’s awake.”
The world suddenly stopped spinning. Lux stood there like an idiot for a full ten seconds before he managed to speak. “She’s… she’s…”
In a flash he had command over his limbs back. He ran to the other side of the room, grabbing a pair of socks, putting them on and pulling on his boots. Darting to the other side of the room, he put his favorite grey sweater on. Then he clipped on his twin blasters, pulled on his finger gloves and ran for the door.
“Lux, wait!” Amni yelled, but he wouldn’t listen. There was no time to lose, and he had to get to the medical ward right away. Ahsoka was awake!
AHSOKA TANO
Ahsoka tried to sit up, but she didn’t get very far. There was a restraining band of some sort of metal around her waist. She looked around for a button or a keypad to release it, but it was on the other side of the room. And the screen was both heat and pressure sensitive, meaning that she couldn’t use the Force to unlock it. And she had the most awful case of pins and needles…
There were a bunch of wires and tubes hooked up to her arms and neck, but they were long enough for her to move a little. In an effort to ease the numbness by sitting up, she readjusted her pillow and scooted up a little. It wasn’t great, but it was better.
Once relatively comfortable, she took the time to wonder where she was, and what was going on. I know that this is the medical bay, she thought, but it all looks so different. How is that possible? I couldn’t have been out for longer than a few days! And what happened to me? The last thing I remember was getting hit with a toxic dart…
The door opening interrupted her train of thought. “Lux!”
