!TW! - Swearing, Insanity

"What is he talking about, Dream?" Sapnap frowned.

He and George had come to Techno's house to see what Dream was doing. He didn't hear the first part, but he heard Phil freaking about something, saying they had to tell them, but tell them what?

"Dream?" George asked quietly. "What's going on?"

"I-it's nothing! No need to worry!" Dream rubbed his hands together, clearly nervous. Sapnap put his hands on his hips in doubt.

"Really? Doesn't seem like nothing to me." Sapnap nodded to Dream's hands, fidgeting immensely.

Dream looked at Techno with despair in his eyes. Wha-? Weren't they his best friends? Why did it look like he trusted Techno more than them? George stiffened next to him, having noticed the same thing. Techno sighed, then nodded, silently telling Dream to tell them.

"So?" George urged.

"Well. . ." Dream started. "I. . . I'm dying."

what.

"Wha-what do you do you mean, dying?" George sputtered.

"I'm fading, disappearing. I'm being erased." Dream looked at the floor.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Sapnap whispered. "We could have done something!"

"No, you couldn't have." Dream replied with a sad smile, looking back up. "When I first noticed the fading, I had a feeling that there would be no cure."

"No, no, NO!" George screamed, clutching his head. Dream and Sapnap instinctively reached to help, but George put out a hand, stopping them.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Sapnap repeated.

Dream didn't answer. His eyes were sad. Suddenly, they widened, Dream gasping.

"What?"

"S-sapnap, y-your eye-" Dream stammered.

"My eye?" He knew one of his eyes were white, it was the result of Dream's death. But they knew that, so why were they surprised? The sound of a sword sliding out of its sheath reached Sapnap's ears, and Techno handed him his sword. Frowning, Sapnap looked at his reflection in the blade, and turned white as a ghost. Or, more so, as white as both of his eyes.

"What the-"

"Sapnap-" George reached for him.

"WHAT THE FUCK?" Sapnap screeched. "Wha- I'm going insane, aren't I?"

Sapnap peered at Dream's dull green eyes. He stared at George's teared hazel eyes.

"Sapnap, I'm sure you're not-" George tried to assure him.

"Yes I am." A hot tear spilled from his eye. His white eye.

Dream. Dream could fix this.

"Dream, you need to fix your problem. Then my eye will be back to normal!" Sapnap pleaded.

"I told you, there's no fixing me!" Dream shrieked in frustration. "This is why I didn't want to tell you guys. I knew you'd go insane!"

"That doesn't give you the right to keep secrets from us!" Sapnap shouted in response.

" I didn't want-" Dream cut himself off. "Your eye. it's back to normal!"

Looking back into the blade's reflection confirmed it. His black eye was back. His other eye was still white, something he realized he could never fix or hide.

"Thank god." George breathed.

"You." Sapnap growled at Dream. "You're coming back with us."

Sapnap expected Dream to struggle, to squirm when he grabbed the blonde's wrist, but instead, Dream obeyed, and followed him out the door, waving goodbye to Techno and Phil. George followed his best friends out into the cold.

As soon as they reached the castle, George rushed to the basement, where they kept all of the brewing stands. Sapnap dropped Dream off, told him to stay and headed to Niki's bakery to look for Wilbur.

"Niki!" Sapnap called as he entered the bakery with a ding.

"Over here!" Niki replied from the back room.

She emerged wearing a soft apron covered in flour.

"Hi, Sapnap! What do you need?" Niki greeted with a bright smile.

"Do you know where Wilbur is? I need to speak with him."

"I'm right here!" A new voice called from the back room.

Wilbur came out, also covered in flour, but he wasn't alone. Puffy followed the ghost out, hair tied back neatly.

"You wanted to talk to me?" Wilbur asked cheerily.

"Yes, yes. It's about Dream." Sapnap frantically nodded.

Wilbur noticed the urgency of Sapnap's tone and his expression quickly became serious.

"Is he okay?" Wilbur asked worriedly, like an older brother.

"N-no. He's not." Sapnap's voice wobbled, tears threatening his eyes. "He's dying."

"WHAT?!" Niki, Wilbur, and Puffy shouted in unison.

"Oh, god. My little duckling." Puffy whispered. "I-I need to get to him, sorry Niki. He's at the castle, right?"

Sapnap nodded.

Puffy rushed away, heading towards her little duckling. Sapnap turned back to Niki and Wilbur, who were wide-eyed in shock.
