Chapter 16: A Night With Benny and the ʝets
"That dress makes you look fat."
I glared at Trina in response to her totally unnecessary and rudely said comment. I literally just got out of the dressing room and she was already criticizing me. Excuse me if I'm not the the skinniest teen in the world who starves herself just to look good in a dress that will literally look good on no one.
"I think it looks nice, but not casual like Dylan said you should dress up for. Plus if you were to wear that dress, you would have to wear heels to compliment the dress. I think that we should find like a cute outfit that doesn't look like you tried too hard or spent too little time thinking about your outfit," Jess suggested shooting Trina a warning look.
When I met up with Candy, Kennedy, and Lana this morning, I did not expect to see Trina, Brittany, and Jessica with them. Apparently Candy saw shopping for my date with Dylan was the perfect opportunity to bond with the other girls. Of course if I had known that Trina was going to be here today, I would have refused to come at all today. We have been here for an hour and I have tried on at least 20 different outfits and Trina had found the perfect insult or each and every one of them.
"You guys are doing this all wrong," Brittany stated getting up from her seat on the couch where everyone insisted was the best place to judge me in the outfits. "I know exactly where Dylan is going to be bringing Brooke and none of these outfits that Brooke has tried on is perfect for where he is taking her."
"What?" Kennedy screeched, causing everybody, including some customers and store clerks, to turn their heads and look at her strangely.
"What?" Brittany asked innocently, looking down to inspect her cuticles.
"You knew the exact place where Dylan is going to take Brooke on the date this whole time? Why did you just sit around and not tell us if the outfit we picked out for her was a good one for the date or not? We were suffering to find the perfect outfit for the unknown whereabouts of the date!?" Kennedy exclaimed, making me feel a little bit scared of her and worried for her blood pressure.
"Well you guys never really asked," Brittany replied shrugging casually. "Besides, you should be yelling at Jess instead. She was actually helping y'all and she knows where Dylan is going to take Brooke."
"Oh yeah! You guys are going to die once you find out where he's taking Brooke! It's a little extravagant for a first date, but it is literally so cute it won't even matter! So cute!" Jess squealed as she went over the events that would occur tomorrow night in her head. "If any guy would take me where he's taking you I would honest to God die then come back to life then fall in love with him. You are so lucky to be dating Dylan, Brooke. I'm not jealous or anything, I only see him as a brother but you are going to absolutely fall in love with Dylan after tomorrow night! Not to mention that he-"
"Okay Jess, I think that's enough rambling for now," Brittany interrupted clamping her hand over Jessica's mouth.
"Honestly- you guys are seriously giving me a headache. I don't even know why I decided to come shopping today with you guys," Trina stated rolling her eyes. "And I swear to God, if I have to see another cute outfit be ruined by Brooke and her grody posture I am going to steal Brittany's keys and drive away to another state. I don't care if you sue me for stealing your car either. You're the one who forced me to come along with you guys to be 'moral support'. Moral support my ass, I just want to go home."
"Okay guys... Let's just find an outfit for the date and get this over with," I suggested breaking the silence that filled the air after Trina's angry speech finished.
