There I was, lying on my back waking up to the sound of voices that I couldn't quite make out and low beeping sounds of medical diagnostic equipment. Then I heard a clear voice say, "He's coming around!", then cheers erupted. My eyes wouldn't open and I couldn't move. I know this feeling, I thought, since I had had surgery before, I was recovering from anesthesia. My thoughts began to return and I tried to smile because it worked! They had given me a new body! I was a beta version of a cutting-edge theoretical process of digitizing the human consciousness, saving it and placing it in another vessel. The vessel or body I have been transferred to was a "scaffold clone" which is a genetically engineered clone with no blood just water infused in the surface of the skin & vital organs. Simplistically the process involved downloading my consciousness to a mainframe and draining my blood from my damaged body to transfer to my new body and then downloading my consciousness. I had volunteered for the project two years earlier. I had spent those last two years undergoing very extensive psychological examinations to insure I could deal with it. Six years ago, I was in a horrific fast spreading house fire.
