Sarah's POV:
It's another day of scavenging for food, water and just anything you can get your hands on. I decided to take a shortcut through the woods into town today. Even though everything had probably been looted already, it was worth a shot. A handgun had been holstered on my hip and a backpack had been strapped to my back. I was all ready to go.

It had been a peaceful walk through the woods. Sounds of birds squawking came from the distance. I was on high alert for any sounds or movement. You had to be in order to survive.

A few moments later, the sounds of grunting and cries of pain came to my ears. Knowing it wasn't a zombie, my instinct was to chase after the noises. A nearby zombie had been stumbling quickly to the noise as well. I quickly withdrew my handgun and shot it in the skull. That was the only way of killing the undead. The brain. I saw what the zombie had been going after. A frail, young, girl had been sitting slumped over against a tree. She had been motionless. I quickly holstered my weapon and ran towards her. Putting my two fingers against the neck, I felt for a pulse. Her skin had been cold but her heart was still beating.

// 3 days later //

(y/n) POV
God.. My head is killing me. My eyes flustered open as I looked up at a ceiling. I sat up slowly, whimpering as my whole body ached.
My eyes scanned the foreign room. It looked like I had been in a bedroom of some sort. I pulled the blankets off from my body before noticing I had no longer been in a hospital gown. I looked down at the grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt that I had been wearing. When did I put this on?

The sound of footsteps climbing up stairs startled me. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. What do I do? Who is it?
Instinctively, I laid back down in the bed and pulled the covers over my body. I laid still and closed my eyes, pretending to be asleep. The bedroom door opened as the footsteps approached slowly.

Sarah's POV:
It had been 3 days since I brought y/n into my home. She had been doing better and her color had been coming back slowly. I had checked on her every so often to make sure she hadn't woken up yet and that she was still breathing. Since she had been malnourished, I had set up an IV in her arm so she could be properly nourished. I found it strange how she had been in a hospital gown. What happened to her? What's her story?
I walked up the stairs, this being my 5th time checking on her today. I was worried, but eager for her to wake up. She looked so peaceful laying on the bed, so youthful. I took a deep breath and checked on her IV bag to make sure it had been full. I had also checked on her pulse to make sure she had been alive still, because who knows. Hmm... her pulse had been elevated... I wonder why...

(y/n) POV:
I wish I could just open my eyes! Who is this person?!
Fuck it.
My eyes pierced wide open as I looked up to see a young woman who had long brown hair. Her coffee brown eyes met mine, she seemed calm as a slight smile came across her face. "Good you're awake..." She said softly, in almost a whisper. I was in shock. This is the same woman who killed that man earlier. Tears started to fill up my eyes. I was terrified.
"y/n...." The woman says softly.
"H-How do you know my name?!" I said defensively, being freaked out with the whole situation.
"Hey Hey Hey... It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. My name is Sarah... Let me explain myself." Sarah said gently.
"When I found you, you had a hospital bracelet on your wrist. It said your name on it." She said.
I looked down and then back up at the woman, trying to make sense of her words as I had tried to remember.
"I need to get out of here..." I said sternly. I pulled the covers off of my body before feeling a hand on my thigh. It was Sarah. She had been crouched down on the side of her bed as she looked up at me. "Please. Let me explain some things. You don't know what's going on." Sarah said.
I pushed her hand off my leg and stood up "No. You killed a man! Why would I trust you?!" I raised my voice, getting fed up.
"Please..." Sarah said.
"You can't just kill a man in front of me and then kidnap me! I'm calling the cops!" I exclaimed before quickly grabbing an old and dusty phone on the table by my side. I picked it up and put it to my ear, hearing dead silence.

"Please..." Sarah said again, softly.
