y/n POV:
The next morning, I opened my eyes to the smell of eggs being cooked. I slowly sat up in my bed and winced, my body feeling extra sore today. "Sarah?" I called out, hoping she could help me get up. Footsteps soon approached the door, quickly. The door opened as Sarah's head poked through the crack of the door. "Good morning, y/n. Are you okay?" She seemed worried.

I let out a small smile, a look of relief appearing on Sarah's face, knowing I was okay. "Yes i'm okay.." I said softly. "Can you just help me get to the bathroom?" I asked, feeling weak and not like myself. Sarah nodded and walked over to me, bending down by my side before pulling out the needle in my hand carefully. I winced, looking away as she pulled the needle out. I've always hated needles. " I'm sorry, y/n." Sarah said, apologetically. "No.. don't worry about it. I really appreciate all that you have done for me." She smiled as she put a piece of gauze over where the IV had been as well as a small piece of tape over the gauze.

She then put her arms out to me as I reached out and held on to them. She aided me out of bed as my feet had soon met the wooden floor. I stood up slowly as my body began to shake. Sarah's grip had strengthened, her hands now under my arm pits. "It's okay, y/n. I've got you." Her words seemed so soothing and so innocent, I loved that. Once I stopped shaking, Sarah guided me into the bathroom. "Will you be okay without me for a few minutes? I will be right on the other side of the door in case you need me." I hesitantly nodded before closing the door behind me softly. I took a deep breath and looked at myself in the mirror. I didn't even recognize the person in the reflection. My hair seemed so much longer and my skin looked so much paler. I turned the sink on and splashed two handfuls of crisp water on to my warm face. "Ah..." I said with relief, the water feeling nice against my face. I turned around and padded a towel on my face to dry it before quickly using the toilet. After washing my hands, I opened up the door to see Sarah standing very close to the door. "I'm okay... Don't worry." Sarah scoffed a bit before another slight smile crept on to her face.

"You must be starving! Let's get something in your stomach." Sarah said with a bit of excitement. I nodded, not realizing that my stomach had been rumbling. I went downstairs with Sarah, her keeping an eye out for me to make sure I was okay. Even though she barely knew me, she seemed like she cared about me.

After making our way into what looked like the kitchen, I sat down in a wooden chair by the table. Sarah had brought over a plate of eggs and a glass of water. "Hopefully my cooking is okay.. I usually don't cook for anyone but myself because it's usually just me here.. But i'm glad to have someone else to cook for" Sarah said softly before sitting down across the table from me, her plate of eggs in front of her as well.

Eager to eat, I picked up the fork and took a large chunk of eggs from the plate, shoving them in my mouth. I couldn't help but moan out. It had been so delicious! "I can tell you like my cooking" Sarah laughed as she smiled widely, watching me. I nodded and raised my eyebrows as I looked at her. "Mhm!!" I then mumbled, not being able to speak much since my mouth had been full of eggs. "Well, don't eat too fast. The last thing I want is for you to get sick." Sarah said softly. I nodded. I liked the relationship Sarah and I had been growing. Part of me wanted to be babied and the other part not so much.

After we ate, Sarah cleaned up the plates and the table before looking down at me as I sat at the kitchen table. "Do you need anything, y/n?" She asked. I shook my head, not wanting to ask for much since she did save my life and has already gone above and beyond to care for me.

"I should get going... I have to find my family.. I don't know if they're still alive or what.. but I need to find them" I said, looking down. Sarah gently placed her hand under my chin and lifted up my head to make my eyes lock with hers. "Not right now. You're too weak to be by yourself. You need someone to take care of you until you are fully functional." I nodded. "O-Okay.." I worried about my family. Who knows if they're even still alive. Waves of anxiety flew over me as I felt useless. But, deep down I knew that I would be better off getting healthy rather than going out and risking it all. I had no survival skills. I probably wouldn't last 5 minutes out there.

"Come on... I'll show you around my house. Whatever mine is yours, y/n. I want you to get comfortable." Sarah said before putting out her arms to me. I took her hands in mine and slowly stood up, balancing my weight on her hands, still being very weak. Sarah smiled a bit before showing me around her 'shelter'.

As she showed me around, I couldn't help but feel like I had been at home here.

I had felt safe.
