"It's Anakin."

I sat there on the floor cradling Anakin's head gently as the transmission with Ahsoka suddenly cuts off as soon as I mention his name. I just hope she gets here fast, otherwise he might completely bleed out. I look down on his face, bringing my hand to gently caress his pale cheeks, his skin beginning to feel icy under my touch. My eyes move from his face and to the bloody floor, the ever-growing pool now even staining the frayed ends of my ragged dress a deep crimson colour, his blood acting as a dye. It was no use fighting back the tears anymore, especially as I watch Anakin's breath become slower and slower the longer I wait for help.

"Don't you dare leave me Skywalker," I whisper softly, sniffing back the liquid running out of my nose as I move Anakin's messy curls from his face.

Damn it, Ahsoka; where are you?!

My head snaps up to look at the doorway as soon as I hear a stampede of feet run towards the room, Ahsoka bursting in through the doorway. She stops in her tracks upon the sight of Anakin in this bloody, helpless state and brings her hand up to her mouth in disgust and sadness.

"It's a good job I called for backup," she says to me as several clone troopers - and Obi-Wan - all pour into the room, crowding around me and Anakin in a circle. Obi-Wan pushes his way through the crowd to reach me, and collapses to the knees as he sees Anakin. I watch his eyes cloud with tears and he gulps, careful not to allow any tears to fall as he holds the back of his hand gently to Anakin's forehead.

"Get him on a stretcher, he's going to die if we don't administer medical attention immediately," Obi-Wan orders to the clones in a calm, well-reserved manner... but even I could sense he was doing his best not to completely fall apart inside.

One of the clones grabs my arm gently to pull me up and away from Anakin as the other clones immediately closed the gap where I was so I couldn't see him. I tried to break away from the clone so I could push my way back through the circle, but his grip was firm yet comforting.

"Don't worry, my lady. They're going to take very careful care of him; it will be ok," the clone says, removing his helmet so he could show me his reassuring expression. I nod blankly, despite not being able to focus on a word he says as my attention was too preoccupied on trying to get a glimpse of what they were doing to Anakin.

Ahsoka walks past the group, trying her best not to look... I could tell she didn't want to see her Master and her brother in such a mess, and I can only assume Obi-Wan felt the same. She walked over to me and pulls me into a hug, holding me securely in her arms. I squeezed her and pulled away, wiping a tear from Ahsoka's eyes as she looked into mine.

"I thought you were really gone this time (y/n), don't you dare leave me like that again," she says, giggling a little. I try to return the smile, but I was too consumed with the idea of Anakin dying to be fully engaged in this conversation, "Thank you Rex, I'll take her from here."

"Of course, Commander," Rex nods at Ahsoka and bows to me before placing his helmet back on and going to join his brothers.

Ahsoka links arms with me and starts to lead me towards the door, "Come on (y/n), let's go get you back to the palace and cleaned up."

I shake my head and try to fall back, my head turning back to look at the Clones surrounding Anakin, "But-but Ahsoka, I can't... I can't leave him alone like this," I protest to her, making her frown in sadness. I know she didn't want to say no to me, but I also knew that it was her job as a Jedi Padawan to keep me safe.

"(y/n) you can visit him in the hospital wing as soon as we give you the medical attention you need," Ahsoka orders me in a soft voice, examining my red raw wrists.
