"Why are you frowning at the coffee? Has it offended you in some way?

When Rubina looked up, there was a playful smile on her sister's face. It was the kind of smile that often followed a conversation that she loathed to have.

" I'm not frowning, just tired", Rubina answered quietly. Then proceeded to look out in the distance, at the morning sky, from her open balcony.

"You don't have to see him, you know. Just because he's in the city."

"Stop it" Rubina looked pointedly across the tea table, at her sister and raised an eyebrow.

"I'm just saying," her sister said. "You're going to go and see him and it's gonna turn ugly. Nothing will have changed."

Nothing will have changed.

Rubina knew that better than anyone. It has been three years since the finale night, when they have walked out of that house and began their respective lives. Him with someone else because he had moved on. The problem was that it wasn't over for Rubina.

"I can't just turn off the way I feel." It was sort of an offering from Rubina. She hated talking about her personal life.

"I know that, sis. I'm not suggesting you have too. I'm just saying that you don't have to put on a show like you're always okay, the picture perfect image. You don't have to go to the concert and see what's he doing. It's not like you're some long lost friend", her sister told Rubina helpfully.

"We were cordial once." Rubina protested meekly. She knew what her sister meant. She also knew that she could easily stop by the venue and see how he's really doing in his life.

"You won't like what you will see," her sister replied softly.

Something in her tone made Rubina look up, "what do you mean?"

"If... if you go to the concert, you want to find him miserable, lost in old memories, right?" Her sister asked while avoiding Rubina's eyes and decided to stare at her own cup instead.

"No," Rubina said immediately.

Of course she wanted to find him lost in his thoughts, in those memories like her. Even the slightest sign that he might miss that house, a moment of longing on his face, would make Rubina feel a little better.

"You know what? I might surprise you and not lose my calm this time." Rubina informed her and just to be petty, rolled her eyes at her sister. After that, she got up and went inside her room.

Rubina knew she would go or at least, drive by the concert so she could see him. It was just too tempting.
So what if he looked really happy, satisfied with his beautiful life?

Yeah, so what?

The place was only half an hour from her home. It wasn't difficult for her to get access in the sold out concert. All she had to do, was call her manager and get a backstage pass within an hour.

Dressed in casual attire, Rubina headed out. On impulse, she stopped her car at a florist shop and picked up a custom made bouquet of her favourite flower.

Hundreds of cars were parked along the road but Rubina only had to walk up to one of the crew member she has noticed near the entrance and she was ushered inside.

As she walked slowly towards the trailers stationed backstage, she could hear the generators were buzzing away, there was laughter in the distance, and a few guys gathered around some instruments and checking them out.

When she heard his laugh, it was like cold freezing water was thrown on her. God, he always had a very distinguishable voice but hearing after all these years in person seemed to do nothing but take her back to the BB14 house.
