Rahul left a day later than he had originally planned, but he went.

However, before leaving he assured Rubina that he would be back after two weeks. He also told her that he hasn't really sat down with his family to talk about the whole engagement situation. And that they were absolutely unaware about it.

And though, his ex fiance had promised to handle the situation in his absence, they deserved to hear from him also. But since he's already leaving, he would talk to his family via Skype and explain everything.

To say that Rubina was a little dumbfounded hearing the news of Rahul leaving for two whole weeks, would be an understatement.

So before Rahul left, Rubina made sure to hug him to her heart's content.

"I won't stop you, but you'll call me, right?"

Rubina asked softly, then buried her face between Rahul's shoulder and neck. "Text me at least once, if you get too busy?" She murmured and then without breaking the embrace, she looked up at him and tilted her head a little, to get a better look at his eyes. "I know how important work is and I... I know you'll get real busy but don't forget to....to take care of yourself and I'll be alright here and...and I'll get busy too but you'll call or...or text, and then you'll be back, and..."

Before she could work herself up anymore and start hyperventilating, Rahul put a hand at the back of her head, guided it back to it's previous place... his shoulder. Without saying anything, he began to hum a tune as he gently swayed their bodies from side to side.

Rubina exhaled a deep breath and closed her eyes, then opened them immediately, realising the song he was humming to her.

"You got my text?" Rubina asked, in utter shock as she put her hands on both of his shoulders and look at him again.

She could clearly recall the incident that took place in her trailer, few months ago. Her asking for Rahul's number from her manager, then texting him and sending him that song's link.

"Took you long enough." Rahul said and softly smiled.

"All this time why didn't you say something?" Rubina asked while debating internally whether to pout or get angry.

"I needed to make sure that what I saw in your eyes at the backstage of that concert, was real." Rahul said and then looked sideways in the distance.
"Then I got your text. Heard the song and... I needed more. So I waited. Then the party happened and... well, you know the rest." He said and finally gazed back at her face, smiling gently.

"And the flowers? That note?" Rubina asked, searching his eyes for any sign that he was lying, even a little.

"She sent it before I even got your text. She called it "harmless push for truth". I was against it but she did it anyways, behind my back." Rahul told her patiently and then kissed her forehead.

Instead of saying anything, Rubina brought a hand up and placed it above Rahul's heart.

Frowning a little, she stared at her own hand, without blinking, as if trying to detect any lie in his each heartbeat.

Rahul shook his head a little at her childish antics. He needed to see her smiling face before leaving and not a frowning one, lost in doubts.

"I'm surprised you didn't realise it sooner. I even gave you a hint that party night." Rahul said, amusement clear on his face.

"No you didn't." Rubina said looking up, momentarily distracted from her staring contest with her hand.

"I did so." Rahul said cheekily. "Remember that night when I was hugging you in the living room? I think...I think we're standing at the exact spot right now."
