eli: I can open my own door
kairi: im aware

he softly smiled and reached his hand out to help me out of the car, I smacked it away and got out of the car. we walked over to some italian restaurant and we sat outside, I reached out to slide out my chair and so did he so our hands touched. I quickly took my hand away

kairi: s-sorry!

he pulled my chair out and I sat down, then he went over to sit down

kairi: so.. how have you been?
eli: i've been great.
kairi: what have you been up to? ...got any coffee?

we both chuckled

eli: I haven't heard that in a while
kairi: same, I didn't wanna share it with anyone else
eli: yeah.. me neither

we looked at each other and then the waiter came by with to take our order. I let kairi order for me since I didn't know what to get. if I was going to have to sit here for a while I might as well actually try to have a conversation

eli: so when did you move here
kairi: about two months after I turned 18

he's not a friend, just an acquaintance. nothing more, nothing less, don't treat him like anything more.

eli: did you meet your girlfriend here or in california?

he flinched as if he was surprised that I asked so calmly

kairi: ah.. no I.. I met her in california when I first moved here
eli: oh that's cool, when did you guys start dating

he looked uncomfortable, good.

kairi: oh uh.. almost a year now..
eli: a year! oh wow, that's pretty long-
kairi: what about you?
eli: ..what about me
kairi: are you with anyone? who's the lucky guy? or gal

touché, you can't beat me at this though

eli: haa

I sighed

eli: nah im not with anyone, I closed my heart off after a certain.. situation
kairi: ..

i wiped that smug ass smile right off your face

eli: you move on pretty damn quick though, don't you

the waited came by and gave us our food and then left

kairi: life goes on, what can one do
eli: you're exactly right! life goes on, and it's better to leave the past in the past, and never look back again

i smiled at him. know your place, Kairi Todoroki.

kairi: well you know, the past has a tendency of repeating itself sometimes
eli: oh yeah, totally.. but I'd rather avoid doing things that'll influence the past from happening again
kairi: still as hard headed as you used to be huh?
eli: ..
kairi: im glad you haven't changed

he softly smiled to himself while taking a bit of his food.

dylan: why would you do that
kayla: do what?
dylan: let her go with him!
kayla: why didn't you do anything to stop her?
dylan: ...
kayla: exactly
dylan: why'd he have to show up... god dammit, andy backed off and now I have to deal with this asshole?
kayla: wait what? andy backed out?
dylan: yeah, he realized he didn't actually like arely in that matter
kayla: this man
dylan: i mean, can you blame him? he's never been good at telling which feelings are which
kayla: you're right
dylan: are you almost done?
kayla: no
dylan: you've used both your wrists and mine with these color shades, just choose the ones you like most so we can leave!
kayla: we have more limbs, and there are still a lot of colors so, we're not going anywhere.
dylan: im so jealous of andy right now, I should've stayed at the hotel with him!
kayla: and leave me alone?! what kind of monster are you! i'm training you
dylan: for what?!
kayla: if you and arely ever date, she's gonna wanna go shopping and unlike me, she'll yell at and ditch you the INSTANT you start complaining. that girl does not play
dylan: the difference here is that i would actually enjoy shopping with her
kayla: are you saying you don't enjoy shopping with me?!
dylan: that's exactly what i'm saying
kayla: well too bad, now, give me your leg
dylan: you're not finger painting my legs
kayla: just a few more swatches!
dylan: no! you already made my wrists look like a color pallet!
kayla: stop complaining!
dylan: oh my goshhh!

kairi: it's good, right?
eli: it's... acceptable
kairi: stop lying, you like it
eli: whatever, eat your damn food and shut up

he chuckled, and then my phone went off

eli: yes?
andy: do you know where I left my charger
eli: you forgot it on my bed last night
andy: did I?
eli: you were going wild
andy: DYLAN MADE ME EAT ALL THAT CANDY OKAY
eli: yeah and then you shoved it in MY mouth
andy: I did that to everyone don't feel special
eli: hahaha! alright, i'll see you in a bit, try to contain yourself while i'm gone
andy: I ate all the candy last night, I don't think you have to worry about me eating more
eli: i'll buy some for us, i'll attend your needs
andy: don't you dare

I laughed and we hung up the phone

kairi: ...who was that?
eli: no one

I was still laughing while putting my phone down

kairi: ...didn't sound like no one
eli: I meant no one as in "it's none of your business"
kairi: yeah I think I got the memo
eli: yeah?
kairi: mhm
eli: mm

we paid for the food and then he drove me back to the hotel

eli: well, this certainly has been.. something. I really ought to take me leave now, thank you for the food

I got out of the car and started walking towards the hotel and I heard him get out of the car

kairi: uh w-wait!
eli: jeez this man just..
kairi: I-if you don't mind I.. I wanted to hang out for a little longer..

eli: as much as I would LOVE that

I sarcastically said

eli: my friend is waiting for me
kairi: ah.. yes of course.. can I text you?
eli: ..why would you do that
kairi: well you know, to hang out?
eli: ...

kayla: go based off his efforts

eli: ..sure

his eyes lit up and he tried to contain his smile

kairi: o-okay! um i'll see you around!
eli: yeah..
