Also I think some of you are confused at how long a miles is, it takes the average person just over an hour and a half to walk 5 miles, SO DREAM CAN GET PRETTY FAR
———-Cold. That was the one thing George could feel. He could feel the biting cold nipping at his arms, threatening to embrace him just like Dream used to.
He was no were near in the correct clothing to be walking around in the mizzling snow. Yet for some reason he didn't find himself caring, instead wrapping his arms around himself as he walked, trying to retain as much heat as possible.
He let his feet guide him down lamp light streets and ever darkening ally's, shadows darting in and out of every one of them like something ready to dart out and grab him.
How could he have been so stupid. How could he have let himself believe, for even one second, that anything he'd said was true. How could he let himself believe he'd loved him
He was a demon.
God, he must have been laughing so hard as he saw the human fall for him, thinking how dumb stupid and gullible he'd been, walking right into his embrace.
"Liking the human?"
The distaste in his voice as he'd said those words, as if even thinking of the idea repulsed him to no end.
"Do you even hear what you're saying?"
George almost wished he'd never gone back, wished he could have stayed happy in his obliviousness for a few more days, wished he could have slept in his arms for a few more nights.
"You think I've fallen for something so pathetic and worthless as that?"
How stupid he'd been, stupid to believe anyone, let alone Dream would love him, would cherish him. Because he was right wasn't he? He was pitiful, worthless, insubstantial. The fact he'd even thought, for a second, that any of it was real could almost make George laugh. The idea that he'd been so naive and hopeful could've made him break out in laughter in the street, each chuckle followed by a hiccupy tear.
"I'm simply using him to pass the time by."
Pass the time by. Time had really flown hadn't it. Two months. Actually, under that. All gone in the blink of an eye. Every kiss, every embrace, every I love you. Every one to pass the time. Every one slowly slipping out of George's grasp, out of his reach.
In an ideal world, they would have met like normal people do. Dream would have been some crappy barista that kept spelling George's name wrong on a cup or someone he bumped into on the street, a blind date his friend set him up on.
In an ideal world, Dream would be there to reach up and grab them, bring them back into his reach so he could cherish them for a moment longer. Bring them back down with him so they could stay forever. So they would never have to leave each other.
But this wasn't an ideal world. This was reality, Dream wasn't a stupid barista and George never went into coffee shops.
George was a human and Dream was a demon.
George couldn't help liking someone who could never love him back.
"You know you love me Georgie."
He did. He knew with all his heart. He knew with every hit of his shoes against the pavement and every shaky breath. With every falling tear and shiver in the cold. He knew he loved him with every being and inch of his body, every part of him yearning for him.
