It's funny to see all of you realising the only point of the star constellation and that trip to the hill with Sapnap and Leah was just for the angsty comparisons and then yal hating me even more because of it
Rip this book being 4th on #happy, wattpad really misjudged the potential for angst
Demons. Their complicity is woven into the air around them, into the people they talk to, the actions they take. This complicity also continues into the difficulties in getting rid of them; this being the fact that the only way to get rid of them, is by de summoning them (something that can surprisingly be done by absolutely anyone who has the right materials), or by killing them; an action that took more trouble then it was worth.
And this fact is the reason why the three demons currently found themselves in a crowded bar in Satan knows where, unable to leave the mortal world, not that any of them really had an intention to anyway.
They'd already lost everything that had ever meant to them, in Demon life and human life.
So who's to say there was even a point anymore.
"Another shot over here!" The demon beside Dream called, raising his now empty glass of whiskey in the direction of the bartender who merely rolled her eyes.
If it was anyone else they'd have stopped serving them shots long ago. But it seemed the recluse demon was a regular here. They knew he could hold his alcohol.
If only they knew the reason why.
"I still don't understand why you drink so much Schlatt." Dream mused as the elder demon downed another shot, savouring the taste on his tongue before swallowing.
"I don't understand why he doesn't just order a whole fookin bottle, he'll drink it all anyway." Minx piped in, Dream laughing slightly at the truth in her words.
They were an odd bunch to say the least and had all tried- and failed- to kill one other six times at least. But then again holding grudges in an immortal life gets boring as fuck. So if you can't kill them. You might as well befriend them.
It's less stressful.
"And I don't understand why you are still kicking yourself up the arse for an event that happened 6 years ago." The older demon shot back, smiling at the way Dream stiffened beside Minx.
"Okay I am not 'kicking myself up the arse'." The blonde defended, huffing as he sat up straighter. "I'm just... you know... moving on."
"If you were 'moving on' you still wouldn't carry that dumb arse elephant with you." The she demon piqued in, Schlatt letting out an agreeable grunt.
Even as Dream went to contest he could feel the indent of the quarts elephant in his hoodie pocket. It was smooth and worn by the amount the dream demon had run his finger over it, stroking in grooves and notches with calloused fingers.
What was he supposed to do? It was the only part of him he had left.
Sometimes he wished he could give himself Dreams. Because then he would be able to see the humans face again. Lie in his arms. Savour his embrace.
But that was just hollow thoughts and empty Dreams.
A fantasy that would forever remain as that. A lonely fantasy for a broken soul.
Not that Demons technically had souls.
Because they were heartless beings weren't they. Hollow. Empty. Unloved.
The only thing that comforted him was that he knew the small brunette would never have to go through that aching feel of loneliness. Puffy had confirmed he had made it into Heaven a few days after the incident. She confirmed that, like with every other heavensent angel in existence, he remembered nothing.
