Peek Into the Past (Fairy Tail Next Gen)

Episode 18

"All right, let's get on with it," Nashi said. "I wonder how they'll try to destroy the moon?"

"Knowing Uncle Natsu, throw a Fire Dragon Brilliant Flame and be shocked when it doesn't reach," Storm said. Emma hit play.

Erza was in bulky yellow armor with blue decorations and cat ears.

Erza: Natsu, we're going to destroy the moon.

Natsu: (excited) Really?!

Gray, Lucy, and Happy were freaking out.

Erza: It's the only way we can change the villagers back to their human forms.

The villagers cheered at her words, looking ecstatic.

"Well, at least someone's happy," Eugene scoffed.

Natsu: Where do you want to go? Do you think we should climb up to the top of the temple? It's a lot higher up there.

Erza: We'll do it from here. The villagers can't go near the temple and they need to witness this.

"Why do they need to see it?" Emma said thoughtfully. "Logically, they should go to the highest point on the island..."

"Mom knows what she's doing," Reiki said.

Gray: I don't know what she's thinking. I mean, she can do some amazing things, but still...

Lucy: So, what do you think she's gonna do to it?

Happy: This is exciting, huh?

Lucy: More like terrifying.

Erza spoke over the villagers' chatter.

Erza: This is Giant Armor. It increases my strength and allows me to throw farther. And this...

She raised her hand and summoned a spear through a red (scarlet!) magic circle. It hit the ground with a thud and shone in the moonlight.

Erza: This is the Spear of Haja. It repels darkness.

"I feel like I've heard of Haja before," Luke mused.

"Haja was an ancient Mildian said to have mastered infinite magics," Rosemary said. "Some say he was undead for the latter part of his career." [Challenge: Name the manga!]

"No one cares about the history. Shut up so we can hear!" Gale snapped. Rosemary shot him a frosty look.

The villagers gasped in awe. Natsu grinned like a kid in a candy shop.

Natsu: Whoa! I see what you're planning now!  You're gonna use that spear to knock the moon out of the sky.

Gray, Lucy, and Happy were extremely skeptical, knowing that was impossible.

Erza: That's right, but I'm afraid I'll need more strength than this armor can give me. So, Natsu, I'm going to need to use your fire power as a boost.

Natsu was confused.

Erza: Whenever I begin to throw the spear, I want you to hit the back of it with your flames. Now I'll have to time our attack perfectly, but I think you should give me just enough power to do the job.

Natsu: Sounds like a killer plan to me!

Erza: Then let's do it.

The other three were dumbfounded.

Gray: They don't really think they're gonna pull this off, do they?

Lucy: Well, I think they've totally gone off the deep end this time.
