jay had never known erin to be the kind of girl who steals her boyfriends t-shirt or hoodie, but now, since they started dating, it seams his assumptions were indeed incorrect. not that he would complain, however, watching her laying there, soundless and peacefully asleep, wearing nothing but his academy t-shirt, he realised just how adorable she was. it wasnt something you would expect from the independent, badass detective he had grown to love, but in moments like these, moments in which she was truly vulnerable, that he saw just how kind and loving and beautiful she really was. jay knew she always had her walls up, never daring to let anyone in for fear of what troubles may arise. however, with him it seamed everything was different, for once, she finally felt happy, and she couldnt be more in love.

she slowly began to stir from her peaceful slumber. she had only had sweet dreams since they started spending every night together. her eyes slowly pried open, an enchanting  smile immediately befalling her face as her gaze was met with his. he loved to watch her sleep. she was always so peaceful in her dreams, so very different from the fearful and cautious woman he had always known her to be. "morning beautiful", he whispered gently in her ear, causing a slight giggle and a bashful smile from erin. she felt so very loved with each of his kind words, it was as if he actually meant that word, beautiful, no one else ever had meant it.

"morning", she replied, her gaze once more meeting his as she smiled through her eyes, displaying to him just how very happy she was through a mere look. "how did you sleep?", he questioned quietly, not wanting to ruin the unspoken love filling the room. "like a baby", she replied, causing a smile from him at her sleep-filled tone. erin sure did love her sleep. " want some coffee?", he cut her off before she could repeat his former question, they both knew the answer. he had stayed up all night to be her hero, protecting her from the memories and dreams that taunted her each night. "sure", she replied quickly, erin loved coffee. it was the only way to function as you struggled to solve an especially hard case. "no. stay here", she called out as he began to get up, readying himself to head to the kitchen when she caught hold of his arm, pulling him back to her. he immediately complied, tucking her head against his chest and wrapping his arms around her, keeping her safe from the dangers of the world, even if just for the time being.

"what?", she questioned softly as he gazed upon her familiar face, a smile covering his own. "nothing. your just... so beautiful", he immediately wished he had shut up as he felt her entire body tense against his, before she settled back down and placed a delicate kiss against his lips before resting her head back against his chest. his words always made her heart warm, his accompanying gaze nearly enough to destroy her. though it would be a much welcome death, to die of happiness and love. he loved her more than words could describe, she loved him in a  way she had never loved anyone and they both knew of this unspoken love, and they had done for over a year. but alas, they loved each other all along, and at least now they were getting a chance to display it. so here they were, at the start of their new chance at happiness, yet already so incredibly happy. the end...
