I laughed inwardly as Syn and I began walking down the hall. He had no idea what I planned for tonight, and imagining his reaction just made me want to burst out into laughter. I stopped walking and turned to him. "Okay dreamboat, snap us to this place," I said as I passed him a piece of paper with the address of the club.He nodded as he looked at the paper, completely unaware of where we were going and I resisted the urge to laugh. He snapped his finger and a moment later we were in front of a nightclub with red neon lights at the top that spelled Faint.
I found this club through a friend of mine and apparently it was one of the most notorious supernatural nightclubs in Juva. I was surprised that Syn didn't seem like he knew the place, he practically owned Juva; the realm adjacent to Jeradua. We spent a lot of our time here as kids and it was a second home for us.
We heard the thundering boom of the music from inside the club and I looked at the long line outside of the club, shaking my head.
"No way are we waiting in that, right?" Syn asked.
"Hell no, we're not."
Syn looked around but remained quiet with his hands in his pocket. I could tell he noticed the hushed whispers and sudden quietness from our arrival. "There are only underworlders here, I hear no heartbeats," he said as he glanced at me.
I smiled at him and nodded as he was putting the pieces together. I needed to hurry up and get him inside the club though. If he realized where we were he would leave and I couldn't have that. Tonight was important to me. I needed to completely forget about the damage Jess had done and entirely lose myself in here.
"Let's go inside," I said as I skipped the entire line and went straight towards the bouncer.
"Back of the line," he growled as he shoved my chest. The bouncer towered over me, the shimmering sides of his head interrupted with a thick red mohawk. Tattoos traveled the lengths of his arms and his face as he glared down at me. If I wasn't with Syn I may have been a little bit scared, but I felt fearless next to him.
I stumbled a bit backward from the force of his hand and Syn took a step toward him and shoved him against the wall. The whole line was now an audience and there were gasps resonating through the crowd. The bouncer looked at Syn and recognition crossed his features as the color drained from his face. But it was too late, the large man was now dangling on the wall with Syn's hand around his throat.
"S-sir, I'm sorry I-"
"I don't want to fucking hear it," Syn said in a terrifyingly calm tone.
I looked around and saw everyone watching quietly and I stepped forward to stop him. He didn't need to draw more attention to himself than he already did. "He's not worth it."
Syn rolled his eyes at me and removed his hand from the bouncer's throat, making the man fall to his knees and cough his lungs out. Syn stepped right past him into the club and I followed behind with a small smirk on my face.
