Syn spent the morning with me trying to calm me and it worked. I didn't know what it was that made me so emotional, but it was painful. I wished that I couldn't remember what I dreamed about but at the same time, I didn't want to know.

If it hurt me that badly, maybe ignorance was bliss.

"You feeling better?" Syn asked as he rubbed my arm. I nodded my head gently against his chest and took a deep breath.

"I'm okay."

"Hey." He said as he tilted my head up towards his. He searched my eyes for a moment and softly kissed my lips. "You can tell me anything, okay?"

I looked away from his powerful gaze and nodded my head. "Okay."

"Are you still tired?" He asked.

I shook my head. I was in fact a little bit tired but I didn't want to sleep again. I was afraid for what would happen.

"You have a long day today, Princess. Get a few more hours of rest." He said as he moved to leave the bed.

I sat up immediately and reached for his arm. "You're leaving me?"

A look I couldn't place passed his face and he shook his head softly. "Never. I was just going to prepare something for your birthday."

"Oh." I said as I let go of his arm.

"Do you want me to stay until you fall asleep?" He asked softly.

I looked at him strangely. He was usually never this intuitive. I usually needed to spell things out for him but right now it seemed like he knew everything I needed.

"Please," I said.

Without any questions asked he returned to the bed with me and pulled me into his chest. Within a few minutes, I drifted back to sleep.

"Wake up, Princess."

I groaned at the voice at turned the other way to ignore it.

"It's almost 1pm, I let you sleep for five hours."

With a stretch, I turned to face my intruder and saw a freshly showered Syn sitting at the edge of the bed. Looking absolutely breathtaking, he was wearing sweatpants and a black shirt, the tail of his dragon tattoo peeking through the top of his neckline.

"Stop staring," he said in a soft tone.

I smiled sheepishly and sat up in the bed, forgetting that I was still naked. Noticing my state of nudity I quickly raised the blanket over me.

Syn's jaw clenched at my actions and I remembered his words about me covering myself with him.

"It's my birthday. No being mean to me," I pouted.
