As horrible as it sounded, I never thought a day like this would come. My heart was practically close to exploding and every time I looked at Syn standing and waiting for Queen, I felt a wave of emotions passing through me. The music changed as did the atmosphere in the room, and we all turned to the door to see Queen coming down the aisle.

I couldn't stop the tears from falling and I turned to Lucifer to see him smiling at me. I smiled back at him and we both looked at Syn who was looking at Queen. I remember being so nervous about the type of person he'd grow up to be, but looking back at those feelings of regret, I couldn't imagine feeling them again.

I looked back at Queen and she looked like a dark princess, but it was perfectly suited to Syn's personality. Fitting to her appearance, Lucifer told me about how Syn called her 'Princess' for some reason he didn't know, and I smiled to myself. Only Syn and I knew why, but that would be a secret that remained between us.

I laid next to Syn and read him the third fairytale for the night. I didn't truly think he'd be into this but to my surprise, he kept asking me to read to him. Denying his request would never be something I'd do. He usually didn't like anyone holding him or speaking to him for that matter, so this felt nice.

"One more," he said in a small voice.

"That'll be the fourth one," I said with a smile as I looked down at him. "You're not tired?"

"I don't sleep," he said. I frowned as I pushed his black hair out of his small face. He had trouble sleeping ever since he was a baby, but I hoped it'd be gone by now.

The door opened and Felix grinned as he hopped onto the bed with us. "Synny!" He yelled happily as he jumped on top of him.

Syn remained quiet as his brother began ranting about his day and I turned to Felix. "Here, let's read."

Felix snuggled into my other side while Syn kept his distance and I laughed to myself. Their differences always seemed to baffle me.

I picked up another book from the nightstand and held it in my hands. "What's that one, mommy?" Syn asked.

I flipped the book over and he squinted his eyes as he slowly read it. "The Prince's Bride." He furrowed his brows but positioned himself to listen carefully.

I spent the next twenty minutes reading the story and Felix looked like he was about to fall asleep while Syn looked actively interested. He was asking thought-provoking questions throughout the story that even I couldn't even answer. "...and the Prince and Princess lived happily ever after."

Felix clapped and yawned from beside me. "When I grow up I'm going to have the most beautiful Princess in the world," he mumbled tiredly.

"Hopefully she'll be beautiful then," I said with a smile.
