Alice fixed her mask; she sealed the cracks that had formed from her crying ten minutes previously.

"Are you ready?"

"Lets just get this over with,"

"Of course- Your going to do great..." Mary assured her.

They stood at the doors to the ceremony hall and waited for the music to start.

Mary walked down the aisle first to meet her at the bottom to hold her bouquet. Alice took short, measured steps down the soft, red velvet carpet, her eyes looked around at her guests looking back at her. A single pair of brown eyes locked with her grey ones. Why did he have to be sat with the guests (and his girlfriend) instead of waiting at the end of the aisle for her? Why did she have to be so stubborn? Even if she couldn't have had Charlie back, she could have got FP back!

She reached Hal and stood very stiff by his side. Facing each other, Hal took her hands in his own; they were cold yet sweaty.

"We are gathered here today..." the officiate called. 10 minutes later, Hal had said his vows and then it was Alice's turn.

"Now Alice, Will you have this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"...I will..."

"Will you comfort and honour him in all that you do?"

"...I will."

"Will you keep him in sickness and in health?"

"I will." she repeated regretfully.

"And forsaking all others, do you promise to be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"

Alice looked out at the guests again helplessly. She found the brown eyes once more and searched for an answer in them. Is it classed as unfaithful if the adultry is purely a figment of your imagination? Could she truly surrender FP for Hal?

"I don't..."

A series of gasps resounded through the room as they looked on in disbelief. Hal tightened his grip on her hands until they went white. However his face remain neutral.

Looking apologetically at FP once more , a tear fell from her eyes as she said...

"I don't know how I could ever want to betray my love." She forced a smile and everyone made an 'awww' sound. Only three people understood her true meaning; Hal, FP, and herself- even Gladys didn't catch on. She never made the vow of faithfulness to Hal, she made it to her love. She made it to FP...

"You had us worried for a moment there!" the officiate sighed laughing. "Now for yet another awkward moment just to get it out of the way... If anyone has any objections as to why this man and this woman should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace-"
