××× Chapter 13 (Part 1) - When She's Dying ×××

======================================

[Xavier/Chase]

I stared at my wristwatch, watching how the hands of the clock move. Damn! Why does it have to move so slow? I've wanted to stand up, storm out of this room and rush my way to the hospital to see my beloved Iris. Yeah. I like her. It was too late for me to realize but it's better late than never right? I won't deny no more. I finally graduate in denying school and it feels good. These past few days or maybe weeks, my life had been pretty exciting and interesting than how it was before. Maybe because, I'm enjoying Iris' company since then.

Then sometimes, I'll just found myself smiling without any reason at all, looking like an escape metal patient and a complete idiot. When by chance, I'll visit Iris and found out that she's resting, I'd feel down and blue all of a sudden. 'Cause that means, staying and spending time with her is clearly impossible. Ugghh! What the heck! Just thinking of her makes me miss her so badly. Tss. I really need to see her before I lose my sanity. Overacting? Yeah. And I don't care.

I remembered last week when I visited her with Ashrelle and Venice. The time when they teased her. Pfft. Iris is just too cute showing her emotions all over her face. I haven't been paying attention to her since I met her but that time, I realized how adorable and cute she could be. Not to mention, her actions were also too honest that it define her true feelings. Back then, Ashrelle and Venice asked me if Iris was inlove with me, I just smiled at them and well, nodded at them as an answer. I knew that she was inlove with me, even before that time. I'm not assuming but her actions were the evidence. I'm sure of it. And I'm really thankful to her -- for falling inlove with such a good for nothing bastard like me. And no worries. I'm gonna pay her feelings back...soon.

The sound of the bell was like a blessing to my ear -- now I can finally see her. I stood up immediately and stormed out of the room just before our teacher. Then I hopped in my car right away and drove my way to the hospital. As soon as I got there, I felt the sudden race in my chest. Am I nervous too much? Or just pretty much excited? Either of the two is fine with me. Maybe this is the impelled action of having someone you really like. And I'm ready to suffer this consequence as long as I could be with her.

My hand was in the door knob when the door sprung open and in front of me was her mom, her dad and her brother surprised by my presence. Not too long, her mom smiled at me and I bowed my head slightly, showing my respect. Her dad and brother just nodded. They didn't stay for too long and bid their goodbyes and thank you for looking after Iris. They really don't need to thank me actually. It should be me who should be thanking them for letting me visit and stay with Iris as long as I want to, without asking too much questions and reasons why I am doing that.

I went inside and saw Iris' pale and smiling face. I walked straight to her and held her left hand while sitting on a chair near the hospital bed. She got stunned for a second when I held her hand. Pfft. How obvious can she get? She was too cute and completely obvious with her feelings. I smiled upon seeing that she liked it when I touch her hand -- it was all written all over her face actually.
