A/N: Sorry about not posting yesterday, I was having wifi issues.
Will
I looked toward the entrance to see one of my siblings come in. "Hey, Liam."
"Hi, Will. I'm here to take over infirmary duty." Shist, I forgot about that.
"Oh, well I'm good to stay in here and I don't really feel like I need to get switched out. Plus there's only Nico so if you'd rather hang out with everyone else." I didn't even have to finish my sentence, Liam just dashed out of the infirmary with barely a 'thank you.' I guess I can see why Nico has such low self-esteem now.
"Thank you."
"Why are you thanking me, Neeks you have nothing to be thanking me for."
"I don't really want to deal with other people right now, and I don't think they want to deal with me either. I'm kinda scary."
"No, you're not! I like you, and I appreciate you, and I love spending time with you." He smiled, I think this is the first time I've ever seen him smile. He had a really wonderful smile.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Hmm, like what?" I knew exactly what he meant, but I don't think he would appreciate me telling him that I just love everything about him. I actually think it might push him away.
"Never mind, so what do you wanna do?"
"Well I would suggest a walk but you're in no condition at the moment so...we could listen to music, play a board game, cards, twenty questions."
"Cards sounds fun, do you know how to play spaghetti rummy? It's my favorite game, plus we can listen to music while we play." I absolutely loved seeing him perk up like this, it was a welcome change from his usual brooding mood.
"Yes I do, I quite enjoy it. But it's not exactly the most friendly game for just two players."
"Oh shoot, I forgot about that."
"How about mythomagic?"
"You know how to play mythomagic!?"
"Yeah, some of my younger siblings are obsessed with it and they got me hooked."
"I'd love to play, but all of my decks and figurines are in my cabin."
"I can get them for you, where are they?"
"It's all in a cardboard box labeled mythomagic under my bed."
"Ok, I will be right back." And I left for his cabin. I know that you're always supposed to have an Apollo camper keeping an eye on the patients but Nico wasn't about to go anywhere anytime soon and he was stable so it's fine if I leave him for just a minute.
I walked into his open cabin and beelined for his bed, I looked under it to find something rather unexpected. There were three giant cardboard boxes, two of them were labeled mythomagic and the third was labeled art stuff. I pulled out the art box because I couldn't help myself and found a ton of amazing artwork. There were tons of sketchbooks that I didn't have time to go through and probably portraits of every single camper here and a few from camp Jupiter. I closed the box and made a mental note to ask Nico about it later, and then hefted the two incredibly heavy mythomagic boxes and brought them to the infirmary.
"When you said a box I was expecting something a little smaller, and singular."
"Well, I was obsessed with it. I probably have every single card that was released until three or four years ago and every statuette and figurine that was on the market. Although my dad's figurine isn't in these boxes, I keep it on my shelf next to a family portrait of my dad, Persephone, Bianca, and my mom."
"I didn't know your mom met Persephone." We continued the conversation as we unpacked the boxes of mythomagic stuff.
"She didn't, neither did Bianca. I just took a few images I had of everyone and put them together."
"So you're an artist? I did see another box that was labeled art stuff, do you draw?"
"Yeah, but I'm not that good at it."
"You'll have to show me some of your art sometime, even if it isn't great, I find that the way a person draws something is the way they see it. And I'd like to know how you see the world."
"Maybe once I'm out of the infirmary I can show you. But you'll have to promise not to laugh at me."
"I promise I won't." We finished unpacking the boxes and setting up the game. I sat across from Nico on his bed and we started dealing out the cards.

An hour and a half later after a very competitive game of mythomagic, I lost. I can't believe I lost to a guy who hasn't played in over two years! And he still has textbook knowledge of everything to do with mythomagic, he wasn't kidding when he told me he had been obsessed.
"Wow, you really kicked my butt."
"Wanna play again." He said, so full of light. It made me happy to see him so joyful, but all fun must come to an end.
"Sorry to rain on your parade but we have to do another healing session, and then it's lunch time, and then we both need to take a nap."
"Aww, you're no fun!"
"I know, but I still have a job that I need to do. And I need you to get better so that you're no longer on the brink of death."
"It's fun though, living on the edge."
"That's not funny, Nico living on the edge of life and death is not a laughing matter." I really hated how much he joked about death like it was no big deal. Especially when most of the time he was joking about himself dying. "Especially when you're talking about yourself dying, there's a lot of people who care about you that would hate to see you go. Including your boyfriend."
And with that, we both burst into blushing messes that were giggling like maniacs.
