Three days in the infirmary a Solangelo Fanfic

Nico

I was in a state of shock and confusion, but it could've been worse. Jason hasn't told anyone about me being gay yet and it has been close to two weeks, maybe I can trust him on this.

"So, what were we talking about before we were interrupted?" said Will, recovering from Jason.

"Hmm?" I didn't really want to talk about it anymore. It had been hard enough to open up to Will the first time, but now was different. Percy and Annabeth were the closest things I had to someone who would understand, but they still would never understand what it was like going through Tartarus alone. I had seen some really disturbing things in there and I didn't have anyone to help me. I can't tell Will about this, he would just get scared off.

He thinks he understands everything about me and that it's all fine and dandy. But when he figures out who I am he's going to leave me. If I tell him everything he won't want to be with me anymore, I think he might just be confused. When I leave the infirmary and he sobers up he's not going to want to be around me.

"I think you were going to tell me about why your powers overreacted and why you woke up in a cold sweat."

"I don't want to talk about it right now, maybe tomorrow."

"Oh, ok. Tomorrow then. Well, that just leaves us with..." He didn't get to finish his sentence because Chiron had appeared in the doorway in full centaur mode.

"Hello, boys."

"Hello, Chiron."

"Hey."

"I came to check on Nico, how is he holding up, Will?"

"If you had asked me a couple of hours ago it would've been a different story, but now Nico is doing just fine. He only needs a few days to put some weight back on and build strength and I think he'll be good to go."

"That's wonderful news! But, Will, shouldn't one of your other siblings be on shift right now?"

"Well, yeah, but I was feeling fine so I let them off."

"Ok, well have fun boys."

After Chiron had left and was out of earshot I asked, "Don't you think he was acting a little strange?"

"It's probably because you were actively participating in PDA," and with that Will lifted out intertwined hands. I blushed, no wonder Chiron was acting weird. I never even hugged Hazel in public, and here I was holding hands with a boy. But it doesn't really bother me that much, it feels freeing to not mask everything I feel anymore.

"Oh, well, I guess that would do it."

Screw Jason! Could he have not come an hour later!? Now Nico didn't want to talk to me. And then Chiron comes in, no way was he here just to check in on us. I think Jason snitched, but that's beside the point. Nico held my hand in front of two people today, that's got to mean something. I've never seen Nico participate in any form of PDA before so this means a lot to me.

"Let's have another check-up, shall we?" I begin to check all of his wounds again, to find that they have bettered considerably. Now if I could only figure out how to fill out his figure and he would be perfectly healthy. "You're a lot better, I think I can put some new stitches in already."

I put Nico under some general anesthesia so that he doesn't feel the pain and begin to stitch up all thirty-six of his wounds. It takes close to two hours to completely stitch him up with close to 1800 sutures. I could've asked one of my siblings for help but whenever I put sutures in I go into an almost meditative trance so I've always preferred to do these kinds of operations on my own. By the time I'm done it's dinner so I bring Nico some food.

He's getting a little bit better and manages to finish a quarter of the plate I give him. But it really annoys me that he never touches the veggies I give him. He needs his vitamins!

"Nico, the veggies aren't going to hurt you."

"Who's to say they won't."

"...I just did."

"Whatever, I'm full anyway."

"Ok, well so I think since you're getting better I should start you on some physical therapy..." I got cut off for the third time today by a new visitor.

"Hey, guys!"

"Hi, Piper," I said. Nico grunted, that's when wheels started turning in my head. Piper would be here because...she's friends with Nico, but also because...I knew it, Jason snitched!

"Soooo Nico, is it true?"

"Is what true?"

"Are you and Will together? Is Solangelo cannon?"

"Ummm..."

I had to change the topic, "We are not taking questions at this time, thank you for your interest. Did you have anything else you wanted to bother us about?" I felt Nico's hand move to mine and squeeze it in thanks. Piper must have noticed this because she did not back down.

*"I want answers! Nico, s'il te plait, je t'en supplie." (A/N: Nico is also fluent in french because he's just really great at picking up languages.)

**"Non, Piper, c'est à peine officiel, et nous ne sommes ensemble que depuis un jour. Je ne vais pas vous donner de réponses avant au moins une semaine." Nico crossed his arms, and I was completely lost I had no clue what they were saying. And since when was Nico fluent in french?

***"Alors vous sortez ensemble?"

****"Eh bien, je pense que oui. Nous avons dit que nous étions copains et copains, oui?"

Piper Squealed, "Oh my gosh! yes!!!"

"What just happened, what did you say?" I want answers!

"Oh nothing, just probably steer clear of the Aphrodite cabin for a while."

"Nico, why do I have to steer clear of them? What did you say?"

"You heard the whole conversation."

"It was in french!"

"Oh, you don't know french?"

"Clearly not, that's an Aphrodite kid thing! Do I look like an Aphrodite kid to you?!"

"So... I'll just leave you two," Piper said as she exited. I guess it was getting a little awkward for her, seeing as we were on the brink of our first argument as a couple I could see why.
