Third Person
Namjoon trudges down the hallway of his apartment building, eyes cast down and tearful. Certain events throughout the day put him in such a horrible mood, that not even the thought of his cuddling dog, Monie, could help with his sadness.
The day started off great, he woke up early enough to go on a morning jog and he was able to make a cup of amazing coffee without rushing to work without it. It seemed like it was going to be amazing! Until he tripped on his way to work, spilling the scalding liquid across his chest and hands.
He was an hour late, having to stop back at home to change into another suit. His favorite shirt is now stained with the deep brown liquid and his shoes are still a little damp from the accident.
His boss was absolutely furious at him, bursting into Namjoon's office so loudly that it startled the poor boy. Namjoon had dropped his papers, knocking his lunch down onto the stack. Just another reason for his boss to send him home early.
Namjoon takes his keys from his pocket and shoves it into the keyhole, eyes widening at the faint 'snap' he hears. He quickly pulls the key away from the doorknob, almost screaming out of frustration at the half of a key he has in his grasp.
"Why is today so shitty?!" He sinks to the ground, tears finally rolling down his red cheeks.
"You seem down." A man stops in front of him, a warm smile on his perfect face. "I think you need a bit of hot chocolate and some cookies, yeah? Come on, let me help you up."
Namjoon hesitantly accepts the outstretched hand being offered to him, and allows himself to be pulled up from the ground. The man before him sighs, wiping his tears.
"We all have bad days, and they make us stronger! You just gotta keep your chin up and say, 'I will get through this.', with no hesitation. Don't let a few bad things get the best of you." The man grins. "Oh, I almost forgot! I'm Kim Seokjin, your new neighbor across the hall."
Namjoon sniffles, wiping his eyes a bit on his shirtsleeve as he stares at the male. "I-I'm Namjoon. And I'm sorry about....this. I don't usually break down, but today has been so frustrating."
"Ah, that's okay! No need to apologize for something you can't control!" Seokjin smiles brightly. "I made a fresh batch of cookies, and I'm about to make some hot chocolate. Come join me, take your mind off of this bad day or yours. You should probably call the maintenance guy though....or your door is gonna be stuck closed."
"Right, I should do that." Namjoon smiles sheepishly, reaching up to lightly scratch at the back of his neck out've nervousness. "I'll....be over in like 10 minutes?"
"That's perfect! I'll see you in 10 minutes, then!" Seokjin heads back into his apartment, Namjoon watching him go with a fond smile.
Maybe today isn't the worst.
