Third Person POV
Jin sighs as he stares down at the medium sized moon tattoo on his wrist, eyes shining with slight disappointment. Another day without his soulmate. He wonders how Hoseok found his so easily, and why he hasn't yet.
"It's not fair." Seokjin mumbles. "I want to meet you. I want to be happy....this whole soulmate thing is a curse."
You can't date anyone that isn't your soulmate. If you try, your body will reject it and make you sick. In extreme cases it can result in death.
"I hate you so much." Jin narrows his eyes. He rests his head on his arms in defeat. Maybe he'll just have to be alone for the rest of his life, like his aunt. He almost drifts off to sleep but the restaurant doors open, allowing the large amount of guests to enter. Some sort of political party or something.
He puts on a fake smile and grabs his notepad, walking over to one of the many tables. "Welcome, can I get you started with some drinks or do you need a moment?"
"We need a moment." A girl scoffs, turning back to the man she's talking too. Seokjin fights back the urge to roll his eyes and moves on the the next table.
"Are you ready to order drinks or do you need a moment?" He forces a smile.
"We'll all take a glass of wine." An older man says. "Yes, Namjoon you'll have wine as well."
A timid looking man sits at the end of the table, head down with an eyepatch covering his left eye. As Jin walks past, the man hesitantly raises a hand to stop him.
"Can I....get a water instead?" He mumbles nervously. "I absolutely hate the taste of wine."
"Of course." Seokjin responds. He goes around writing down orders and bringing drinks back to tables.
"What have I told you about that stupid eyepatch?!" The older man from earlier raises his voice at the shy man.
"Dad, I-"
"Take it off."
"But dad, my-"
"Now, Namjoon. I won't ask again." The old man scowls. Seokjin watches with slight interest as the man pulls off his eyepatch, head lowered to hide his face.
"How are you liking your meals?" Seokjin asks the group. Most of the people respond, but the man in the corner keeps his head down. Jin watches as a few tears hit the table. He acts like he dropped something and squats down to 'pick it up', turning to face the man.
"Are you okay?" Seokjin asks. The man looks over at him, a giant moon tattoo covering his left eye. His eyes are glassy with unshed tears. Seokjin gasps lightly, looking between his own tattoo and the man's.
"You're my....the tattoos...." Seokjin stutters, holding up his wrist. The man's eyes widen slightly.
"E-Excuse me Dad, I'm heading to the restroom." He mumbles, motioning for Seokjin to follow him.
The two enter the bathroom together, and the man immediately turns to Seokjin. "I'm Namjoon."
"Seokjin." He responds, still in shock. "Your tattoo....it's beautiful. I mean, y'know the placement."
"Yeah, right." Namjoon mumbles. "It's ugly, you can be honest."
"No, no you look amazing." Seokjin says. "I um....it's nice to meet you, Namjoon."
"Likewise." Namjoon says. "I never thought I'd find my soulmate."
"Believe me, I feel the same way. Would you like to, I don't know, have dinner with me sometime?" Jin asks.
"I'd love that." Namjoon responds. "Really, I would. I should probably head back to the table, my dad can be...."
"Right, sorry." Seokjin takes his notepad from his pocket and writes his number down. "Call me and we can arrange something."
"Yeah. Yeah, I'll call you later." Namjoon grins.
