Meredith and Derek had been dating for a little over 2 months now, which was why they were walking home from a mini anniversary dinner.
It had been nice to walk home in the evening, that was until the sky had opened and rain was pouring down. "Let's run" Meredith giggled as they started to move faster down the street.
They were both laughing hysterically by the time they made it to the street before theirs. "I think we should give up, running it is not helping" he laughed.
They slowed down and stopped running, breathing heavily.
"Meredith, i love you" he breathed. "I love you too" she kissed him.
The rain poured down, soaking them both, but they didn't care. It was like a scene from a movie, it was perfect. He lifted her up as she wrapped her legs around his waist. "Let's go home, the whole neighbourhood is probably watching us" she spoke breathlessly, pulling away from his embrace.
They walked the rest of the way home, hand in hand, smiling at one another.
"I need a shower" she said whilst struggling to open the door. "Really...I could use a shower too" he smiled at the idea.
She finally managed to unlock the door they walked into the house, their clothes dripping wet.
They practically ran upstairs, Meredith giggled the whole way until he pulled her towards him and placed his hand on her cheek, kissing her slowly.
"Mhnn, as much as i love kissing you I'm freezing" she shivered. "We can continue this in the shower" he smiled, they walked into the bathroom and started to strip from the cold wet clothes that clung on to them.
She stepped into the shower, twisting the faucet, letting the water heat up.
Once steam hit the glass the stepped in. He pulled her under the stream of hot water, warming her. They gazed at each other, letting the water cascade down the both of them.
After their shower they got ready for bed. "So I have to travel for a client, and i was wondering...do you want to come? I mean you don't have to, it would just be nice like a vacation, I'd work for a couple days and then we're free to do whatever" she rambled.
She wasn't used to this kind of relationship, she did not under any circumstance, want to screw it up. She was finally happy, like really happy.
"Meredith..." he started before being cut of by her rambling again. "Sorry it's stupid, your a surgeon, you can't just skip a few days, please let's just...forget I said anything" she continued nervously. "Meredith respectfully, shut up and listen to me, and I do mean that in the nicest way possible" he interrupted.
He leaned forwards on the bed, taking her hands into his. "I'll check with the chief but it should be okay, I haven't been on a vacation in forever, so i'm sure he'll understand, It sounds lovely, and anything with you would be perfect" he reassured. Squeezing her hand gently to urge a response.
"I love you" was all she could come up with before shuffling forward, kissing him swiftly, cuddling into him.
They stayed that way for a while. His arms practically cradling her tiny frame. "So where is it that we're going?" he asked her, feeling a rush of excitement.
"Hawaii" she responded, smiling. "Good, I would love to see you in a tiny bikini" he joked. She giggled softly, his favourite noise.
She had already started choosing out clothes for the trip. She didn't go as often as she used to, but when she went basically every fort nite she had bought hundreds of things. She had a million skimpy bikinis, some bought with the sole purpose of making guys drool.
She had that effect on men, she was drop dead gorgeous. Especially to him.
She was his everything.
He watched as she skimmed through her draws, throwing two pieces into a grey suitcase. Most of her colourful clothes were lavender. That was a fact he'd picked up on, ever since he knew her.
Her shampoo was lavender, her body wash was lavender, she had a few lavender dresses, some a shade darker than others. He smirked when he remembered that even some of her lingerie was in fact, lavender. Most of her swimwear also seemed to be the same colour. "I'm going to take a wild guess and say that your favourite colour is lavender" he smiled at her, causing her to stop packing and turn to face him.
"God I would literarily marry you right now if I could" she started, "your the only guy in the world who recognises that it's not just purple" she mocked, rolling her eyes at the very thought. She then realised what she had said, the M word.
She just told the guy she had been dating for less than 3 months that she would marry him. She scolded herself at the realisation that she was officially a freak. Like one of those girls in movies that are completely driven by the thought of getting married. The ones who go wedding dress shopping after the first date, who always ended up alone and crazy.
"Shit, I really...I didn't mean we should get married I...It was the worlds most stupidest joke" she spoke nervously. "Please don't say I freaked you out, I promise it was meant to be a joke it's just I hate when people call it purple" she continued, internally screaming at herself.
"No, Mer I'm not freaking out, I don't want to get married right this second but some day...and same goes for you, please don't freak out" he worried. "And, I'm glad me not just calling it 'purple' means something to you" he finished.
She breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you" she smiled. Internally freaking out a tiny bit. He had just told her that he wanted to marry her someday. The thought scared her to death. Marriage and babies weren't thing she wanted to even think about for as long as she possibly could put it off. But she wouldn't tell him that, for now they were okay. More than okay...they were good.
