Percy's POV:
Percy's night was actually pretty decent with no nightmares.
He should have been thankful but what was really bothering him was lying. He trusted Thalia and Nico but as soon and she brought up the name Annabeth, he panicked and said he didn't know her.
Nice job Percy, he thought. That's one of the most stupidest things you have ever done. And you are pretty stupid.
He didn't know whether to tell them that he actually remembered Annabeth. It was very dull but then it started becoming more vivid.
He remembered her honey blonde hair. Her pretty features. He stormy grey eyes you could easily get lost in.
They needed to find her. They needed to get back.
"Wake up, " commanded a voice. "And wipe the drool off your mouth."
Percy's eyes fluttered open and he could see Thalia sitting down next to him. Streaks of the sunlight made her eyes look like the sky.
Percy's cheeks flushed as he used his sleeve to wipe the drool off his mouth.
He got up so he was sitting in a comfortable position. He reached for the pen sword in his pocket but froze as it occurred to him it wasn't there.
He turned to Nico who was on the other side of them with Thalia's bow in one hand and his pen in sword form in the other.
Nico studied the writing on the side carefully. "Riptide, " He guessed.
Thalia raised an eyebrow. "Since when do you speak Greek?" "Since now, I guess, " Nico said. His hair looked glossy in the sun.
He got up and capped the sword so it turned into your average ballpoint pen and handed it back to Percy.
"You guys get cool weapons and what do I get?" He groaned.
"Uh, you can wack your enemies with a your metal chain belt?" Percy said "Sounds cool to me."
Nico rolled his eyes.
Thalia hopped off the boat which almost gave Percy a heart attack until they realized they somehow were on dry land.
Nico got out of the boat right after her sending a splash of sandy water on the side of it.
"Where are we?" Percy asked, still inside of the boat.
"Boys are so dumb," Thalia murmured. A little louder she said, "We just sailed all the way across lake Ohae." She played with the necklace around her neck.
There was no possible way they could have sailed all the way across the largest lake in Missouri but Percy decided not to question it.
There's a sign right over there." She pointed to the left and sure enough, there was a sign that had lake Oahe on it.
"Remember what Amphitrite said?" Nico asked Percy and Thalia.
"Defeat the Mighty and find the scales."
"Find the scales, " He repeated in a whisper."The Scales of Justice!" Percy cried out.
Thalia and Nico both jolted their heads to face him. "Uh sorry," He apologized.
"I remember it now," Thalia said.
"The Scales of Justice belonged to the Titaness Themis."And now they are missing, " Nico added. "And we only have a week to find them."
"But what do you think will happen if we don't find them?" Thalia asked Nico.
"Im afraid we already know the answer."
He was right. Themis was the Titaness/Goddess of good council. Without her scales, the world would be a chaos. Complete negativity. Then it would collapse.
"How will we going to find them?" Percy wondered out loud. "It's not like we're a human Wikipedia, we don't know the answer."
"It could be anywhere, " Nico replied miserably. "And anywhere means literally anywhere."
"Exactly. And who in the name of Hades thinks that we're going to travel around the world in 1 week finding some stupid scales, " Thalia gumbled. She seemed to be getting used to the Greek ways.
Suddenly there was a whimper and a rustle coming from the bushes. Being a demigod and all, it was probably something that would get them killed. But Nico didn't think twice.
He walked over and lightly opened the forest green bush.
Out popped a girl the age of seven with dirty blonde stringy hair with big eyes the color of topaz. Her ears were in the shape of a triangle and she had a red dress with white polka dots. Her dress had rips all across the lace on the bottom. Her face was shaped a little sharp like a triangle as well.
Nico jumped back in alarm.
"Eep!" The girl shrieked. She was covering her blonde hair with her arms.
She was clearly afraid. Thalia carefully walked over to her. "Hey, it's ok." The girl squeaked as Thalia crouched down to her height.
"Hey kid, what's your name?" Thalia asked.
The girl studied Thalia then tenderly touched her spiky hair. She gave her a dry smile and said, "I'm Thalia Grace those, they are my friends Nico di Angelo and Percy Jackson.
Percy wanted to yell that they were probably this girls next snack but she simply looked too precious.
"Im Eeva, " Eeva said sheepishly. "You don't look good."
"Well, we kinda almost died yesterday, " Thalia laughed. "And we almost drowned, " Percy agreed."You guys are hungry, " Eeva assumed. "Follow me." She emerged out of the bush and got on all fours like she was an animal and walked towards the trees.
And again, the trio had no choice but to follow.
They were following Eeva in the woods and every two seconds Thalia gave Percy and Nico a silent warning to not say anything. As much as Percy wanted to point out that Eeva's face looked like a peice of cheese pizza, Thalia would probably attack him if he said anything like that.
Nico could tell Percy's intentions and he looked like he was trying not to chuckle.
Thalia already transitioned to calling Eeva "kid" to sis. They seemed to be bonding quickly. It was one of the weirdest friendships Percy had ever seen. A sixteen (she was really fifteen, though) year old girl into punk and GreenDay and a seven year old girl that was shy and possibly watches Peppa Pig in her free time.
Nico was silent for the whole time but everytime Percy glimpsed at him he looked like he was thinking hard. Perhaps regretting going to that bush.
It felt like they were out walking in that forest for hours in the horrible heat, but really they had only been walking for ten minutes.
"Here we are!" Eeva announced with excitement. There was a wall of leaves and trees and the sound of water. There was the slight sound of walking.
Then Eeva spread open the leafs.
